I wonder just how much was known about Andrew and brushed under the carpet as 'necessary'to facilitate business. I cannot see that he acted alone.

I saw someone suggest the biggest issue with Andrew could just be that he's a bit thick and, having grown up as a young and reasonably attractive prince, he didn't ask enough questions when the likes of Epstein were providing him with girls who "wanted to sleep with him". Probably a bit generous to him - I haven't seen all the details about what he may have done - but not impossible.

Obviously providing confidential information is essentially corruption but I suspect that's a lot more common than most people realise. I've seen similar in local government so it wouldn't surprise me at all if it happens in central government and/or international affairs and business.

Chagos Islands, Badenoch agrees with Trump statement that contradicted previous Trump statement that contradicted earlier Trump statement.

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cgrz2v98z0ro "The US government has given its official backing to the UK's plan to hand over the Chagos Islands to Mauritius and lease back an important military base.
In a statement, the US Department of State said it "supports the decision of the United Kingdom to proceed with its agreement with Mauritius concerning the Chagos archipelago".
It will come as a relief for the UK government after rapid changes in the position of US President Donald Trump on the deal, going from calling it an "act of great stupidity" to saying the deal was the "best" the prime minister could make." see

Followed by this from the tangerine twat.
https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c309qqyer8yo "Donald Trump has thrown the UK's Chagos deal into doubt as he launched a stinging criticism of the plan that would see the UK hand over the Chagos Islands to Mauritius and lease back a joint UK-US military base.
The US president urged Sir Keir Starmer not to "give away Diego Garcia" - the largest island on the archipelago and home to the base.
Trump said "this land should not be taken away from the UK" and if it did it would be "a blight on our Great Ally", in a post on social media."

Very little mention of the 2000+ islanders that were removed in the1960s/70s. This documents their plight at the hands of the 'superpowers' https://www.hrw.org/news/2026/02/17/the-injustice-in-chagos-continues

"While most of the coverage and debate focused on the US military base on Diego Garcia island, little attention has been given to the sordid story of US and UK involvement in ongoing crimes against humanity against the islands’ Indigenous people – the Chagossians."

I don't really understand why we are doing what we are with Diego Garcia, but much of it has been seemingly because the US has wanted it, alongside other international pressure.

But anytime Badenoch uses the incoherent ramblings of Trump (given he has flip flopped for and against it twice in the last month), she undermines the UK. She's clearly a completely vacant cynical vessel, with no integrity. I'm sure someone will say similar about Starmer (for his many other faults I wouldn't agree on that point) but I certainly think Badenoch is worse, she simply doesn't offer anything and behaves with a mountain of unearned hubris.

Also quick one.

The new Head of the Civil Service is a walking scandal waiting to happen and they have still appointed her.

This will absolutely blow up in Starmer's face in a very short time - genuinely diabolical political instincts.
One way of judging an appointment is, does it annoy the right people? I'm encouraged by the response to the news that Antonia Romeo has been made cabinet secretary. Allison Pearson, one of the Telegraph’s most rightwing commentators, is furious, describing Romeo as “woker than woke”. And GB News is on the warpath. Steven Edginton from GB News has posted a highly negative assessment of Romeo’s record here. Her offences include: “Promoted Guardian articles attacking Brexit.”

Anything that winds up the righteous right is right by me.

Well judging by past appointments, there’s a fair chance you’re right. But what are you basing this prediction on?

Not exactly watertight but really a combination of some things.

The press were already chucking bullying accusations and claims of dodgy expenses activity prior to her appointment, after a Foreign Office investigation the expenses concern was written off but the investigator said there was a case to answer re bullying, this was a long time ago though. Just seems like there is a chequered past there that can be picked at.

The other much more speculative thing is that I had a gander at the Civil Service subreddit and of the Civil Servants on there they seem to have a very low opinion of her and expect this to blow up at some point.

Then there is Starmer's track record of appointments to these sort of roles, which is horrendous.

It is a lot of speculation and anecdotal reading, but the trend is very much that this will blow up in the Government's face in short order.

I understand the reasons behind it but really, what's the point? He's got a 0.00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001 chance of even being next in line to the throne. Time and effort would be better spent running the country. Or attempting to.

Not a boxing fan but this headline caught my eye.

The Uber-driving English champion & his 30-year fight for a passport.

Deserves better treatment by the immigration department, give him citizenship for ****s sake.
