In his Wednesday remarks at Davos, Trump once again showcased his bitter dislike of wind energy.

He said:
“One thing I’ve noticed is that the more windmills a country has, the more money that country loses, and the worse that country is doing.”
The US president claimed that “China makes almost all of the windmills, and yet I haven’t been able to find any wind farms in China.”

“China’s very smart: They make them, they sell them for a fortune,” he said. “They sell them to the stupid people that buy them, but they don’t use them themselves.”

The “couple of big wind farms” that China does have are not in use, Trump claimed.

“They just put them up to show people what they could look like, but they don’t spin, they don’t do anything,” he said, adding that for energy, “mostly China goes with the coal, they go with oil and gas, they’re starting to look at nuclear a little bit, and they’re doing just fine.”

He went on to say China is “shocked that people continue to buy those damn things.”

“They killed the birds, they ruined your landscapes,” he said. “Other than that, I think they’re fabulous, by the way. Stupid people buy them.”

Fact check, it shows what a lying tangerine twat he is:-

China has more wind capacity than any other country in the world and has twice as much capacity under construction than the rest of the world combined.

China’s wind generation in 2024 equaled 40 percent of global wind generation, according to a 2025 report from think tank Ember Energy. It is also building 180 gigawatts of large solar projects and 159 gigawatts of large wind projects, which together amount to nearly two-thirds of the capacity coming online worldwide, an analysis from Global Energy Monitor says.

Starmer has now been publicly humiliated by Trump on the Chagos Islands deal. I accept that Trump is unpredictable at the best of times but just the day before he was boasting about his great relationship with Trump. Now he's been completely undermined by him. Such a weak PM.
Trump also did a U turn as he backed the deal…. Why not mention of a U Turn? I suspect you were all over it when Labour performed a u turn…

His comments in Davos were of a man losing his sanity. If this was Biden, they’d be a full on assault of him from the Republicans

When Christian Wakeford MP defected from the Tories to Labour in 2022, Nigel Farage was outraged.

“Where is the principle in this? What right do members of parliament have to cross the floor, to join different parties, when they’ve been elected under a particular ticket… He should put himself up for a by-election,” Farage stormed on YouTube.

Of the three current MPs who have defected from the Tories to Reform UK during this parliament, how many of them have shown principle and called a by-election? Er, precisely zero.

More on Zahawi and Jenrick’s defections in the new Private Eye, out now.

He referred to Greenland as Iceland 3 times in quick succession yesterday.

The ****e House response debunked and derided here https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...p-greeland-iceland-davos-speech-b2905200.html and many other places. This tangerine twat and his sycophantic arse lickichers are a godsend for comedians stand up or sat down.

"White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt on Wednesday falsely claimed that President Trump did not repeatedly mix up Iceland and Greenland in a marquee speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, as the Republican detailed his contentious plans to take control of the latter island.

“No he didn’t,” Leavitt wrote on X in response to a reporter accurately describing the speech, sharing a Google result featuring an image of Greenland. “His written remarks referred to Greenland as a ‘piece of ice’ because that’s what it is. You’re the only one mixing anything up here.”

In fact, during the president’s speech on Wednesday, he used the wrong country’s name four times.

“I’m helping Europe, I’m helping NATO, and until the last few days, when I told them about Iceland, they loved me,” Trump told the crowd at one point.

“They’re not there for us on Iceland, that I can tell you,” he continued shortly after, referring to European nations. “I mean, our stock market took the first dip yesterday because of Iceland. So Iceland’s already costs a lot of money.”

“The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.”
