I can see this statement as a sign for far worse to come. Trump will end up sending alot of Democrats to prison.

Well that is the test of America’s checks and balances. If he is able to send people to prison out of petty revenge, the system has failed. He is too busy scrubbing his name off the Epstein files to put too much effort into any of this…
Taxes aren't high for the super rich. Closing loopholes and removing the ability to use tax havens would raise a huge amount. Way more than 'waste' in the UK. Taxing the super rich is surely better than restricting benefits? Restricting the power and access of the lobby groups would go a long way towards achieving the waste and fraud issues don't you think?
How would you go about stopping the dinghies?
I wouldn't mind betting Hilary Clinton ends up in prison.
Reading about Trump’s attacks on the judiciary and the expulsion of Venezuelan s (which I partly agree with...but not the process by whichit is being done) , Trump will weaken the courts and end up getting his own way.
In 4 years time I think the American legal process will have largely be undermined by the current regime and those lawyers involved in legislation will all be more Right Wing companies.
I could imagine some interesting implications when the Democrats return to power. Clearly, it is in the Republicans' interest that they never do so.
The Trump administration will be the most significant development in the West since the collapse of Communism but not in a good way.

I need to go back to the start and do a degree in business and economics. I know that we need to tighten up taxation, but I don’t understand it well enough to comment really. Been PAYE my whole life - and with large pension payments and mortgage payments have never really had any money

Most people misunderstand the flight risk involved with raising taxes.
Closing loopholes etc is obviously a great idea on the surface. However you have to understand that by closing loopholes and raising taxes, these wealthy people will simply close their businesses and leave the UK.
No one can thrive in high taxation societies. Especially not ones that are already destroying their economies thanks to stupid net zero targets

This is what happens when you raise energy prices through the roof and act like a socialist dictatorship.
We need to attract businesses and entrepreneurs as much as possible to grow the economy. Simply raising taxes may easily have drastic detrimental effects if not handled correctly.
We have to sort out goverment spending so that taxes are actually value for money, before raising taxes.
If, as suggested, they have been running the country instead of Biden, because he was mentally handicapped, I would say they deserve worse than prison.
That would be treason of the highest order. Interesting to see what additional proof there is for this accusation.
