Yes, sure; we have to wait and see what the long term effect of Labour’s fiscal policy will be. But the markets didn’t wait before reacting to the Truss/Kwarteng budget, so Rachel Reeves can already claim considerably more credibility than her predecessors.

Many right wing commentators in the press predicted that Reeves’ budget would unravel in a similar way to Kwarteng’s, btw. - and Os was quick to echo them. But it turns out Labour had at least done their preliminary sums well enough to calm nerves in the City (something Gordon Brown always achieved also btw).

While not defending Truss's budget it does have to be factored in that the BoE had a hand to play in the days before it that actually had started the downturn which was then exacerbated by the Truss budget. IT is fun to pin the whole crash on Truss but reality is that it was not solely down to her ineptitude.

These things are 100% required. When you have kids you may start to see this through a less selfish lens.
As a registered citizen of Mercia I agree. The Constitution is very clear on less travelling, more locally sourced food and of course independence from the Norman invaders. and yes I am genuinely a registered citizen :D

No, they won’t. 99% of scientists are not zealots. You are so far out on the loony fringe on this.
They will actually inadvertently as pointed out above with their false solutions to it. If they don't stop pushing the things like Biomass (which is worse than Coal) and don't stop pushing things their mates can make money from then it is all a bit pointless anyway, no matter the science. Strange they will listen to the scientists when they say Climate change is real (and I am on board with this) yet they ignore the science when they say Biomass is worse.

People like to use scientific evidence when it suits their argument but totally ignore it or even dispute it when it doesn't. For example, there are some people who unbelievably claim a person can change their sex from a man to a women or vice versa, just by saying so. You can't get more unscientific than that but these people insist it's possible. Then in another post they'll say you can't argue against scientific evidence and expect you to take them seriously. You couldn't make it up......or maybe you can when it suits.

Luckily nobody on here, but enjoy your dead horse!

I see Trump has appointed a member of the press as his secretary of defence. Damn the "legacy media".

Unless they blatantly back you, of course.
And he has no management experience. To have your first management job be in charge of thousands of people is beyond crazy. Hard to watch this train wreck in progress.

This is what I thought, square pegs in round holes people in positions they're not suitable for. Bunch of nodding dogs sniffing the orange arsehole.

Richard Tice playing the “Why not us?” game to incite his followers into thinking that Reform has been unfairly treated by not being allowed to join other party leaders in laying a wreath at the Cenotaph.
For those who don’t want to read the attached article, there is a long standing rule that only parties with 6+ MPs will participate in the official laying of wreaths.
Reform only has 5 and the Green Party only has 4, but I don’t think the Greens are complaining.
