It’s mad here isn’t it?I don't normally go on the politics thread. I remember why.

We're extremely well balanced on here. We've got a chip on both shoulders. It’s mad here isn’t it?
We are having an international levelling out. China is already reaching the end point of its meteoric rise - and will soon be replaced by India as it rises up. And then another country will. It is the poorest countries with the most people which are seeing huge increases in wealth. And then they get rich and this drops as people stop wanting to be taken advantage of.You know I think people massively overthink politics.
Just had someone say Harris lost because she went too hard on Trump’s criminal cases.
I think the reality both here and there is people by and large vote on ‘do you feel better off than 4 years ago?’
Yes = Government gets re-elected
No = They don’t
Trump failed to do this last time and lost, Biden failed to do this over the last four years and Harris lost, Trump will probably fail over the next four years and if the US is still a democracy then whatever the Republicans put out in 4 years will lose.
Most of everything else we talk about is just noise in the grand scheme.
Reality is that every government both here and the US has overseen a decline in living standards since 2008 and no one has found a way of arresting that trend, the public are getting more restless and less forgiving.
Obama probably survived this because it was early into the decline.
The Conservatives survived for so long by throwing a big old distraction into the mix (Brexit) the instant that passed they were toast.
"Most people are ****ing idiots mate, that’s always been democracy’s greatest weakness."
While I wouldn't totally disagree with this statement (we have, after all, been saddled with Labour here in the UK) , it's always amusing (and arrogant) that it gets trotted out when the "wrong" result is announced.
I'm not celebrating Trump's win (I think he's a dreadful person) but the reaction on here to Os' victory dance is hilarious, however much he's enjoying the moment he's not the one being petulant.
Didn't someone on here tell him to "suck it up buttercup" on another issue only yesterday? Well, what's good for the goose.....
And you believe you are worse off. Whats the difference? The most depressing thing is Os believing that he is somehow better off because of Trump.
Trump won the popular vote
312 Electoral College votes likely
GOP took the Senate (54+ seats)
GOP on track to gain in the House
Defeated a $1+ BILLION campaign, Hollywood, Big Tech, Big Business, censorship regime.
And it wasn't even close.
The legacy media have revealed their insane bias across the world as well.
When they couldn't beat him, they tried to bankrupt him.
When they couldn’t bankrupt him, they tried to jail him.
When they couldn’t jail him, they tried to kill him.
When that didn’t work.. the second greatest political comeback in history happened.
Great day.
In Europe we are undeniably worse off. Ukraine will likely fall, the US will likely leave Nato, and Europe will be in a pickle. If you only care about the US then America First is fine. And you believe you are worse off. Whats the difference?
Don't forget the 20% import duty and the evermore receding likelihood of a trade deal that was going to be the easiest ever following brexshit. Or was that the one after one done the day after leaving with the EU because they need us more than we need them.In Europe we are undeniably worse off. Ukraine will likely fall, the US will likely leave Nato, and Europe will be in a pickle. If you only care about the US then America First is fine.
Whoever made this chart and added three question marks above the 2020 result is also in the rabbit hole. Sometimes people vote for the other team. Dignity means accepting it.You must log in or register to see images
Looking objectively at the data, you really do have to question the legitimacy of the 2020 results.
The one election that was mostly postal votes, miraculously found 20mil extra votes for the democrats.
If you look purely at these charts, you can definitely see why people think there was fraud involved.
Thought I'd better do a bit of background research rather than inferring something from a single misleading source. The chart and other information only go to show the inequities of the electoral collage vs popular vote and the need for reform. There is no evidence of voter fraud whatsoever after all charges have been refuted in case after case leaving such claims in the realm of the conspiraloons. You must log in or register to see images

Well it is because people had simply had enough of your beloved Trump.Fair play for doing some ‘research’.
I wouldn’t expect someone with your grasp of maths to be able to read charts on your own. So genuinely, well done.
However back in the real world, where we can think for ourselves, we see that in this year’s record turnout; trump is sat on 71mil votes.
Dementia Joe Biden supposedly amassed 81 million votes last time, alongside a high republican turnout.
The math isn’t mathing
It is totally mathing. You just don’t want it to math. There was a much higher turnout last time around as people wanted Trump out. This time the economy has stagnated and Harris has failed to excite the voting public. Also, more people have voted independent this year - which is a stat glaringly absent from your very complicated graphs…Fair play for doing some ‘research’.
