I can only apologise for not openly calling this out, but I have him on ignore as responding seemed a pointless waste of my time and I was unable to read this thread when it was there because it turned it into a pointless game of verbal tennis with someone who just needs the oxygen of our attention

Yeah no worries, I had him on ignore too, but the thread became so unreadable that I undid it.
Appreciate it can make me mad, but to be honest after years of living with the general undertone from people I am immune to it. Just felt it was right to call it out as it is and not skirt around it.
He can deny it all he likes, but it may be a case of deny too much as you know really that is who you are.
In fact I would have more respect for someone to come out and say, yep that is how I feel, rather than pretend.
A favourite expression of mine is that you cannot reason with stupid.
It is the absolute lack of self-awareness that gets me. Perfectly reasonable conversations are there to be had about immigration, religious intolerance, terrorism, but everything is reduced to a soundbite, an insult and an assertion without proof. He never responds in depth and never supports his case. Yet we are all stupid. And anyone who finds themselves having to repeatedly tell us they aren't a racist? Well... we know what that means.

It's better to be over-sensitive than not sensitive at all in what is a sensitive issue.
The sentence I've highlighted is just utter crap. Since when did being sensitive about a topic allow extremists (note I removed the word "Muslim") to murder people in this country? Actually I'm not sure why I've highlighted one sentence, the whole post is just sick.
