Knowing how keen people have been to get regular updates on government sleaze, cronyism and general murky behaviour, I can't help but notice that they seem to have dried up. Can it be that Labour are the "honest" party that everyone was hoping for and that the phrase "they're all the same" can finally be ditched?
Unfortunately, the answer is no. The Conservative dodgy deals have been replaced by Labour dodgy deals but for some reason the appetite for posting and reading these articles doesn't seem to be so strong anymore. Here's one that the previously eagle eyed reporters missed, apparently.

They won’t mention it because it doesn’t fit into their champagne socialist worldview that labour could also be corrupt/useless

These appointments should be scrutinised and if civil service recruitment guidelines or ministerial codes have been breached then appropriate action must be taken whatever that may be.

Who would have thought that telling young men on social media that it’s okay to treat women like sex toys would lead to an increase in rape?
Women like traditional roles, King. They will respect you for your strength, King.

Meanwhile the reporting of crimes against women has improved - even while prosecution levels have not.

If you're talking about since 2002 it's clearly both major parties.

I find it very hard to believe the main cause is Andrew Tate and his like.

Nobody thinks that. But the point being made, I think, is that someone who thinks Tate is a "good egg" probably should check their own worldview before trying to hint this is the scary "foreigners" again.

Women are far more likely to report this kind of crime since the me too movement. I suspect that is the biggest cause for the numbers.

It’s obviously a combination of a lot of factors. I mentioned the likes of Tate because Os is one of his fanboys.

I just think Andrew Tate's influence is hugely overstated. He's more a symptom of the problems in society than a cause.
You’re seriously not saying it wasn’t him who immediately went on social media with complete lies about the perpetrator of the Southport atrocity, which led to the riots? Even Farage cited him as a source.

Edit: ask his 9.9 million followers on Twitter how much of an influence he is.

Tate is an influencer. He influences. That he is a reflection of a wider social issue / reactionary movement doesn't contradict this.

Tate both reflects and creates the pubic response. He is a mouthpiece for views which then legitimises those views in the eyes of certain groups of people. That then widens those views, which he then further legitimises in an ongoing cycle.

The proliferation of quite extreme social media influencers, saying really unpleasant things, doesn't happen without those views existing in the shadows. But, like I said, these mouthpieces legitimise the views and bring them to the forefront.

HP Sauce, The New Boys; A Lowe profile
"Rupert Lowe, the new MP for Great Yarmouth, is anything but your typical "man of the people." A landed Cotswold toff, Lowe's career spans from his days as the football chairman of Southampton FC, to his current directorship of 13 corporate entities, including co-director with Akshata Murty (aka Mrs Rishi Sunak) at Digme Fitness which went bust in 2022 after taking £630,000 in furlough cash and owing creditors – including taxpayers – £6.1m.

From the Eye article
"He then entered the world of football to become the unpopular chairman of Southampton FC in 1996-2006 and again in 2008-09, before quitting with the club mired in administration. A favourite terrace chant in those days was: "Rupert Lowe's a ****er."
