Mid & West Dorset Lib Dem
First time EVER that West Dorset has not been Tory

South Dorset Labour
Drax out

:1980_boogie_down:
I used to do work related to the council in west Dorset as little as 5 years ago. Was there the day after Brexit in the build up. Vocal pro Brexit banners in Newbury and the council was dominated by (most incredibly old) Tory ideologues who were opposed to spending money on public services wherever possible. To see their council and MP now go Lib Dem is crazy

Why are the pundits saying that Farage being an MP will make Starmer rethink any even potential notion of considering more re-alignment with Europe? He’s currently one of 4 MPs for Reform - one of whom was already an MP for a different party and already had a massive platform in the media

I guess it’s more down to the share of their vote? But that’s not how it’s being reported at all. It’s being reported as his mere presence in the chamber. I’m interested to what he can possibly do on a week by week basis a one of over 600 people.

Ok scratch what I said earlier, lab slight drop, con slight increase on BBC forecast.

Results to come must be favorable to the Tories.

Still a big night though.

Oh the recalculation was bollocks and it turns out Labour and the Lib Dem’s really were doing better than the exit poll.

What a shame.

Brexit Hard Man Steve Baker is out. He can now go and enjoy his “fast catamaran sailing” (not a thing in case anyone wasn’t sure)

Guy was on holiday during the campaign so it would have been galling if he had won

The gatemouthed gobshite is given more credence, respect and media coverage than he and Ltd Co show deserves.

My tactical vote counted. Henley and Thame Tory since 1910 who were ousted for the by the Lib Dems. Albeit with boundary changes but still a huge loss.

Things may not be smooth sailing there. Early in the night when the predictions came out they had someone from them on saying that they would be moving rapidly to “democratise the party”. But Farage set it up that way for a reason. He doesn’t like being challenged. I’m not sure (at the very least) the other three confirmed MPs will like that in the long run. But on the flip side, he himself has admitted that he eventually needs to hand over

When Henley, Chelsea, Surrey Heath, Chichester etc are ditching their Tories is really makes you wonder where these 100+ places that are still voting them in are. I know I can check at the end. But blimey
