It's Hancock at the covid inquiry today. The arrogant arsehole has much to answer for. He does like his reality TV, I wonder how he'll cope with the reality of the deaths his incompetence caused.

We should have a sweepstake about how long it takes Hancock to say 'I was following the science'. My guess is 10 minutes, and only this long because first he'll has to explain who he is (or rather, was).

I was zoning in and out of the clips of what he said as I’m not feeling well but after they were played James O’Brien’s summary was “does he know other people have been giving evidence?”

The world is polarising so quickly and becoming very policy driven. Netherlands, Argentina, France next? Ireland?…Spain is an utter mess. I think the perception of biased media coverage is pushing central people further to whichever side they might lean.

Interesting article in the FT this week suggests that both UK and US public opinion is still with Israel. In the case of the US, it has strengthened in the past couple of weeks. It suggests the extremely vocal minority isn’t as representative as it seems and that can get lost in the noise.

What is clear is that the 18-24 tik tok generation lean heavily to the left on just about all issues (some of which they can’t answer the most basic of questions on). Not surprising but interesting.

I’d imagine public opinion is much more negative when it comes to Israel’s behaviour in the West Bank but it doesn’t go into that detail.

In more uplifting news, our family friend’s grandchild was released by Hamas this evening. 200 left to go.

We can but pray for peace on all sides. I still cannot see how that can be achieved as long as Hamas has a foothold in Gaza.

Hi Saint Joey!! While Spain is far from perfect, it is not in a mess!! Sanchez has been brilliant these past four years in his handling of the economy during Covid times, the way he balances the needs to the variouis regions of Spain, (the right wing seems to think that he is hostage to the Catalan separatists. I think negotiations and compromise are very important aspects of a responsible PM. Spain could become a mess if the PP and Vox ever get a coalition government. I hope PP can see the damage that Vox is doing in certain regions of Spain where they hold the balance of power.

He’s doing an astonishing job. Homicide rate down 60%, other crime rates cut dramatically. Reinvigorated their entire economy.
Highest approval rating in their history

You won’t hear it anywhere in the western media though, as his success doesn’t fit the globalist agenda
Amid reports that people are now scared of the police now rather than the gangs

AP NEWS is western media

Good to see that the Daily Mirror won a libel case against Sir James Dyson.
He sued for libel after one of their political journalists correctly pointed out that he had championed Brexit as being good for the UK before moving his global HQ to Singapore. His claims that the journalist’s story was “a vicious and vitriolic personal attack” were dismissed by the judge who sided with the newspaper and agreed that the comments were just an “honest opinion”.
Good to see a wealthy bully, using his incredible riches, put back in his box.
Hopefully, once the tories are out of power the Good Law Project won’t have to keep going to court to fight wrongdoing, that the Tories fight with taxpayers money.

I normally watch HIGNFY on catch up but watched it last night. Loved Paul Morton’s comment in response to Farage’s team claiming ITV were in breach of contract by showing Farage’s bare arse.
Merton replied “If he had a no arsehole clause in his contract he wouldn’t be in the show”. :emoticon-0136-giggl:emoticon-0136-giggl
Farage’s team? On HIGNFY? I know bbc want balance but that would surely be ridiculous?

Not sure if you should be using blue ink or not, but if not I am referring to Farage’s political team, not a team participating in the show.
No - I didn’t take in the comment properly and was still a bit feverish so it didn’t register that the news story was about “Farage’s team” making a complaint. In this case I assume his advisors and supporters ?

So it was actually meant as a genuine question / comment.

It’s funny because in the early days they were crowing about how likeable he was coming across
