There's a time scale to add. Austerity additional deaths between 2012 and 2019 if I read it correctly, covid 2-2.5 years. Have to say many thousands of the1/2m plus deaths in total were avoidable.

Stealth taxes.
FOR each £1 the Government gives to homes it will take £2 in stealth taxes, says the Institute for Fiscal Studies.
The IFS says this will be due to freezes to tax and benefit thresholds, which usually rise with inflation.
But income tax bands have been frozen for four years and other tax and benefit bands indefinitely.
IFS’s Tom Wernham said millions of Britons will end up paying far more in taxes or losing vital benefits.

Yes, of course they were, as my post reads "many thousands of the 1/2m plus deaths in total were avoidable".
I couldn't work out whether you meant Covid or Austerity deaths and were implying the others weren't avoidable
