I always throught that the Conservatives would oust Boris themselves but I am a little surprised that this has happened so quickly.. I had believed that it would be a commission in to Covid which would have undone him.

Listening to the politicians on Channel 4 news, a point was raised that if these politicians who have resigned felt strongly enough to do so today, what is so different from the past when Johnson always operated in an unscrupulous fashion. Angela Raynor commented that all the members of the Conservative cabinet are equally culpable and were part of the same, rotten regime. I totally agree with this statement and think it strange that anyone would wanted to serve in Johnson's cabinet since it would have ultimately sullied their future reputations. I hope the voters remember who they are!

The whole politcal system needs to be cleansed. Let's have a general election so that the people can decide and vote in another government. I would also hope that woever is incumbant will do the right thing and ensure that measures are put in place to ensure that our democracy can never be hijacked in this fashion again, Time for the Conservatives to be proscribed and hopefully measures like "Prevent" put in place so that the public is aware of the people who are genuinely dangerous to our society. I do not feel this is a political party that has a right to exist in the 21st century. No Conservative should ever hold public office. We need to be rid of them permanently.

I understand why we are all getting excited over today’s events, but are the resignations really as a result of ministers challenging standards or because the Mail recently (allegedly) let it be known that Johnson needed to go?
If, as I suspect, it is the latter, should we be getting excited that the Tory MPs are still taking instructions from a tax dodging billionaire media baron?
