I have been talking to my Tory friends oops sorry I shall start again. I have been talking to my Tory acquaintances and they tell me that Johnson's days are numbered. His time as PM has been far too calamitous for him to be allowed to continue much longer. The problem is that Gove is the only one ready to step up to the mark and he will only do so if he can have that arsehole Cummings with him. They are not happy about that as they see him as being at the root of the problem. How wrong can they be? FFS there has never been anyone more politically incompetent than Johnson. Cummings is of course second after that.

Gove? There's no way a foreskin can govern the country.

You are right up to a point, but I would hesitate to call Cummings incompetent. Never forget that it was he, and not Johnson or Gove, who masterminded the Vote Leave campaign, Johnson’s leadership campaign, and the 2019 General Election campaign. How on Earth he managed to sell that toxic buffoon as any kind of leader was, you have to admit, a work of genius. As you suggest, when the time comes he will do the same for Gove if he is allowed to. He is just about the only person of intellect in the government, apart from Rishi Sunak.

My only hope is that a public judicial inquiry is called before Johnson is removed. Then the whole sorry shambles of a Tory government will be swept aside, as most of them will be in prison for the criminal negligence that has seen more than 60,000 UK citizens die before their time.

Are we nearly there, yet?

We don’t have an absolute monarchy, so the verybfirst point is a miss (sorry to be a pedant).

But most importantly, I’m not seeing much of a “spread of enlightenment ideas.” Feels like we’re actually going backwards tbh.

Johnson appeals to the man and woman in the street? The man has zero charisma, a made-up.personality and haa produced policies rhat are nothing to write home about

Yes, it doesn’t take much to fool the man or woman in the street.

in the words of John Beverly, aka Sid Vicious, “I’ve met the man in the street, and he’s a ****”.

I`m thoroughly ashamed that Gove comes from Aberdeen - the thought of him as PM makes me cringe even more than BJ and May. Is he really the best that the tories can come up with ? Sadly I can`t see them being held accountable and face the consequences for their actions (or inactions). They are very good at being teflon shouldered, and the apathy that got them elected (again) will prevail I fear. I have confidence in Starmer, but by the time he gets a crack at it, the damage will have long been done.

I think Gove is NASTY and, unless I am mistaken, well in with Scummings.
I also think that Gove (especially) and every MP should be subject to random drugs testing.

Quite amazing that a 22 year old black working class footballer is having this effect on policy. Just watched Michael Wilshaw the ex head of OFSTED saying that government should give in on this. Who is running this country and , more importantly, who should be?

Update: Spinning out of control for Pfeffel. Starmer is sure to go on this at PMQ's - What a PR disaster. Now my MP Therese Coffey has put her oar in criticising Rashford. You couldn't make this up.

When Johnson comes out with comments, such as he wants to end “the sense of victimisation”, he is effectively dismissing victimisation as a reality and undermining the BLM movement.
It’s the same as telling someone to “man up, it’s just teasing”, or “It’s you interpreting things wrongly, not us saying/doing things wrongly”.

The Tories like playing with words, so that the idiots think that they are actively doing something, or apologising, when in reality they are doing neither and making a bad situation worse by their inaction.
An example of their double speak is when they are called on to apologise for glaringly obvious **** ups and they say things like “I am sorry if you think that I have made a mistake/done wrong etc”.
This isn’t an apology for the wrongdoing, but a regret that they haven’t duped everyone, and are being put in an awkward position.
