Many of the other EU 27 have come out with similar comments, spaffer Johnson has been calling round various leaders, if anyone is attempting backdoor negotiations it's him. Disappointed in your comment mate.
Apart from trying to invade us over 200 years ago, just what have the French done to you Beddy?
As the country most similar to us they have most to lose from an unfair deal that favours us over the EU. France and Ireland are going to be the two worst affected by our selfish actions. But they still signed off on May's deal and all the extensions which goes against original EU policy.
But no, Tusk etc has come out with plenty of criticism. And I think the Leave camp tend to blame Merkel. Though she's and old hat and retains some political correctness so is diplomatic about things and less outspoken. You seem to be the person who targets France all the time.

Even a "relatively benign" no-deal Brexit would push UK debt to its highest since the 1960s, the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS) has said.
The think tank said borrowing was likely to rise to £100bn and total debt would soar to 90% of national income.
"The government is now adrift without any effective fiscal anchor," said IFS director Paul Johnson.
The Treasury said any decisions would be made "with a view to the long-term sustainability of the public finances".
Saw that, and thought it was an ideal time to for them to mention that things might be better under Labour, but no.
I also saw a Tory MP playing the blame game over the failing Buffoon EU deal, when he said “I was led to believe that negotiations were going well, until the Surrender Bill, the Benn Bill was passed”.
But the worst thing is that the gullible will continue to swallow the lies and rhetoric.
That any meaningful proposals were made during that period has been widely refuted by the EU negotiating team and various EU 27 leaders. To call those that continue to swallow the current government's retoric deluded and gullible is charitable in the extreme.

Seriously, what don’t these idiots understand. We are not in a position to make such demands, and correct me if I’m wrong, we will be negotiating trade deals with the EU and not individual countries, (won’t we?) which makes the threats/bribes irrelevant.

No we don't Beddy, because you tell us they are private and personal reasons and you won't divulge.
If that is the case, then you have nothing to say that can possibly sway anybody, or convince anybody that you are justified in your mistrust and that leaving is a good solution.
I'm pretty sure that leaving with no deal will be a disaster. A deal is not on the cards so unless Brexit is cancelled, the whole country will feel the results come October 31st.

Board of our (pretty large)company did a presentation today. One of them made a big point at how the likes of extinction rebellion today and other climate protesters are showing the growing trend in demand for green solutions and how we need to incorporate them in our future developments.
Just thought I would point that out on case anybody thought everyone in power were ignoring the protests like Johnson and Trump.

Somebody asked me yesterday, after I had been talking about how important the XR protests were, about what our economy was going to do when we haven't got any tax income from fossil fuels, no imports from foreign countries due to no flights or container ships and very little industry due to travel problems? He then went on to tell me how all these "spoilt brat" protesters are going to miss out on education and health are because the country won't function.
My only answer was that the climate problems were bigger than that, and if the race is going to survive then even bigger changes than he'd pointed out would be required.
His reply was basically "**** them then, I'm not putting up with that"
This was a father with 3 kids and I suppose, grandchildren at some time in the future. I just kind of mentally unfriended him and walked away. It bugs me that people are still only thinking in terms of trying to maintain their current lifestyles and in their own lifespans as a timescale.
I haven't given up my car, or reverted to a low meat, agrarian lifestyle so am still being a bit hypocritical but I think I'd be prepared to change pretty much anything if that's what it takes.
I'm still hoping for some useful technological solutions like carbon capture and green energy production on a massive scale but I appreciate that those are only part of any solution and that we're probably too far down the road to be able to prevent massive changes to come.

I am not trying to sway a soul or convince anyone..........I respect and mainly understand where remainers are coming from.........With some of the things said I actually agree with.......My reply to Chilcs is/was a bit tongue in cheek he has just forgotten a few things we discussed privately is all. Just to put the record straight I didn't vote the idiot in and neither did I expect such problems with negotiating a deal. In truth stay or leave it will never make a difference on how I feel about the EU.
These vague hints are always intriguing. In my febrile mind I imagined Beddy arriving home for tea only to find a bicycle festooned with strings of onions leaning against his front fence. Meanwhile a man wearing a beret and a blue and white hooped sweater was in flagrante delectus with Mrs.B!
That's fair enough, in which case, why be pushing for a resolution to the unsolvable Brexit conundrum and not just accept that not leaving the EU would be best for the country's stability, prosperity and long-term future.
Feel free to continue to mistrust the EU, however I certainly trust our government less than I do the EU as it currently stands.
If remain was the price to pay to remove the odious creature who currently resides in No10 along with his self serving paymasters, would you accept that price?
