I'll disagree with this. In theory, I'm in favour of bridging divides and bringing people together, but I'm not sure that Labour has accomplished that, nor that Labour believes that it can: the lack of a concrete stance seems to reflect a belief that there isn't really a position that can unify the opposed factions, and the results is that (at least for now) the party has bled quite a bit of support in the polls.
And that loss of support, unfortunately, represents a large part of the impetus for this insane brinkmanship: Boris doesn't care about Brexit, Boris cares about Boris, and right now he thinks that he has more to gain by forcing an election than he has to lose.
