Err Have I got this wrong.........The lady was a peaceful demonstrator who infiltrated the meeting or whatever. Now she is I grant you roughly treated a bit but escorted out. He is now being sued for assault?? My question would be if that had been a security guy would he be sued for assault. Sorry this saga is not making much sense to me. It doesn't matter that it is a tory meeting it could just as easily been any particular meeting including Farage and co. Sorry can't go along with this..........

She was manhandled!! Why there were no security at the entrances, I do not know so that is bad planning to begin with. But it does not excuse Mark Field´s reaction, and I am afraid he will have to answer for that, and to say she could have been carrying a weapon just beggars belief.

Arrested? Really? All he did was escort the protester away from the premises. This has blown completely out of proportion.
The use of force there was clearly disproportionate. As she didn't initiate contact she is absolutely within her rights to press charges as that is assault by law.

Back when i was like 19, 8 or 9 years ago i did a customer service course as requested by jobseekers at the time which i was on for about 6 months(before i got my first full time job through a scheme the conservatives soon cut). They instructed me to be big and block them but not to initiate contact yourself as you would be the aggressor. You could only restrain somebody if they made contact but not otherwise. Vague memory and something might have changed since then but still.

Longer video the shows the buildup which i think is just as important:

Girl: "sorry.... please!"
Mark Field: Grabs her by the neck

No attempt to talk and get her out peacefully, just violence. He had no right to do that.

Indeed. The look on his face and the initial agression in his approach shows he lost it. If he's that quick to snap probably best out of office methinks.

He's a bully, supported on the media today by misogynists.

Ok perhaps in reply she should done for trespass then...........As she had no right to be there even as a demonstrator.............If we are quoting the law they do have that option.

Absolutely but that is a civil offence, not a criminal one. She can only be sued in civil court for that. Its part of the reason you are not allowed to use force as its not an arrestable offence by itself even by police.

If you don't agree with the law you can always try to get it changed by protesting to the Conservatives......oh

And you are only guilty if trespass if you cause damage, which she didn’t.

I'm no lawyer but no one could be sure she wasn't intent on injury..........or could they? After all she did have a hand bag........which I gather could be called a weapon. The fact she didn't get to use it is neither here or there........Also if she admits to going after Field or whatever his name was.......isn't that classified as stalking? Which is a criminal offence.........Either way it was a set up.......oh and just for the record I am not condoning violence under any circumstances........

All those people sitting down had knives on the tables in front of them, perhaps they should all be prosecuted, after all we have no idea what they were going to do with those knives.

In what way was it a set up?

No one made him start ragging a woman around by her neck.

I guess you're right in the first part as that's the defence Field is going for, So i guess you will be able to see the outcome in court for that one.
But she was clearly just trying to walk past behind his seat, she wasn't targeting Field. Field tackled her as she went past.

Security are trained to handle these incidents and have legal constraints on how they physically manhandle people. They would not have shown the anger and the unnecessarily aggressive behaviour of that Tory thug.
Absolutely.

Seems like the guy is actually using the fact he hasn't been trained as an excuse....

It’s lucky then that nobody used one of those on her.........actually we do know within reason. They were there to protect themselves! <laugh>

At one point Symonds could be heard telling Johnson to "get off me" and "get out of my flat."

On the recording, heard by The Guardian, Johnson can be heard refusing to leave the flat and telling Symonds to 'Get off my ****ing laptop' before a loud crashing noise.

Symonds is heard saying: "You just don't care for anything because you're spoilt."

Police initially denied that any incident had occurred. It was only when confronted by The Guardian with audio recordings as well as records of the incident and the patrol vehicles that attended the property that they admitted any such domestic incident had occurred.
