Darling Femi (as adored by many on here) played it down relating the death of Jo Cox in comparison to throwing milkshakes. It is a strange period where "harranging Soubry, walking alongside her asking her questions (and intimidating her) brought an overwhelming response of "this is terrible" and again using the Jo Cox murder to say "this will happen again" yet nothing was thrown at her, but when it happens to someone like Farage (or Robinson for that matter) then it is "deserves it" with the Jo Cox incident being used the other way, not to state "this will happen again," rather a dismissive "it doesn't compare to murder."
Not saying that someone making the acid comment would actually want it to happen but we hear a lot about "incitement" if certain people say things whereas it is just "bants" if those who think they have the moral highground do it.
IMO, yes it is only a milkshake. Annoys me more the contradiction of "OK for one side to do things, outrage if the other side does it." However just as some nutter can go to extremes like in the Jo Cox case it is not beyond reality to imagine a similar nutter taking things to the extreme. To be incredibly picky what if someone throws something at someone who happens to have a serious allergy? Something harmless can be thrown containing nuts, celery or something that could actually end up being a weapon.
Completely lost me there Imps. Jack Renshaw, who just got life for planning to murder Labour MP Rosie Cooper, wanted to emulate the murder of Jo Cox. I honestly can’t see any parallel whatsoever between that and throwing milkshakes at a buffoon like Farage. Nobody is condoning the cretin who advocated using acid, and I would be interested to hear who that actually was. I suppose in an ideal world nobody should throw anything at anyone, but nobody is planning to murder the guy, after all.
The best comparison is to the John Prescott egg throwing incident, but at least he managed to get a dig back!. It was a solo act designed to publicly humiliate but with a subtle difference to the Soubry incident which was straight menacing intimidation from a group of aggressive males towards a woman.

Meanwhile, our government is supplying billions of £s worth of arms to Saudi, to murder civilians in Yemen; barely makes the news. But some slimy con-artist gets a milkshake thrown at him and it’s an affront to everything from democracy to the sanctity of human life.

Looking at the film clip, there were not too many Farage supporters around. In fact there weren´t many anti either, so apart from this incident, the people of Newcastle ignored him and his entourage. As for him being racist, I am not so sure that is true. What the wider Brexit issue has undoubtedly unleashed is that it has revealed layers of rascism within the underbellly of the UK population, and we are all guilty at times. Even to jokes about the "Jocks", "Paddies" and the "Taffies," is now deemed possibly racist in today´s language?

I don't see how you can conflate the throwing of a milkshake with actual murder and rape threats. The first falls into the age old protest of delegitimising someone but making them foolish. It is harmless and indeed could be seen to be democracy in action (talk **** get a milkshake). The other are acts of hate, pure and simple and should be treated as such.
I would feel the same if it was Farage Cable, Corbyn or Umana on the receipt of a dairy bomb. (yes I know legally this is common assault)

We run a foodbank for our residents and the number who have had to turn to us for food has massively increased over the last few years. Ive always been a massive critic of universal credit and this is one of the reason why. It may give more options to those who are good at managing their money but it really hurts the worse off and those that are struggling.
Its called democracy. The biggest parties are always going to be the ones in the middle as that's how compromise works.
And its not like views that aren't central, like hard Brexit or revoking Brexit aren't getting airtime..
I am not saying there is a comparison. I am saying that in the case of Soubry the reaction was "Jo Cox could happen again." In the case of Farage and Robinson then as you say, the reaction is "not comparable." In a lot of cases the same people that were outraged at the Soubry incident are the ones saying "nothing to see here" about Farage.
The twitterer who made the "acid" comment has deleted both her twitter account and her facebook account. I had a look who she was before she did though. Didn;t etch it entirely into my mind, but I think she was in some Quango in London, was from somewhere miles away from London but supports Leyton Orient. Most definitely someone who should no better and not "ill educated" nor "low level educated."
You are complaining about "guido setup bollocks" yet the whole furore about the BP donations under £500 was by remainers who did exactly what Bennet did that you call "Guido setup."
And the whole story yesterday was about <£500 donations and how they can be abused. The EC may well be going in there to investigate over £500 donations however all that twitter and the media have been going on about is dark money abusing the "anonymous" allowance for <£500 donations.
IF the story is about >£500 donations and that is what the EC are investigating then why is the whole news segment devoted to <£500 donations? Maybe I will get a call about my donation?
