And build the Vanguard ballistic missile subs but not actually buy any Trident missiles to put in them.

Also why should the highest earners pay a higher percentage of their income? If you kept it at 40% they would still pay more tax as 40% of a higher income is still more and it might stop them trying to find ways to evade paying tax. My earnings put me in the 40% tax bracket but not by a massive margin, but it means that immediately I get a pay rise or bonus almost half goes back on taxes and NIC.
I agree with your point but not your use of 'evade'. I hope you meant 'avoid' which is legal of course whereas evasion means jail time..

A huge number of young people, and they are the ones who will suffer most from the lunacy of Brexit. I am ashamed of the 17.4 million people who were deceived into voting leave, and that includes you.

Please don't patronise me as a leave voter. It was clear that we would be outside the single market etc. I have no problem with anyone who voted remain so I expect the same courtesy. In terms of the younger vote...why didn't they then?

Not patronising you at all, just complaining that you made a huge mistake which will make life worse for most of us.

This is the sort of country we have become after nearly nine years of Tory rule...

Shameful.

But one of the most distressing things is that this isn’t recent.
People who voted for the Tories in 2017 knew this was going on and still voted for it to continue.
It’s not just the Government who are to blame. The people who empower them have to take their share of the blame too.

Was it one of these? There's a few hoops to go through and fees to be paid.

I've worked and travelled extensively usually with my employer dealing with visas and work permits. Lets hope in future following (if it does happen, can but hope it doesn't) brexit UK/EU travel and in particular work visa/permits are considerably easier than USA or many of the countries I've had the pleasure of working in.
How about the students and young working travellers? Found this for Erasmus students https://www.bbc.com/news/education-47293927 haven't time to read in depth but there seems to be more questions than answers.
Yes, I think it was an H-1B for specialist occupation. He had just finished his Masters in film music composition, and Dan Heath liked his work, but unfortunately LA is teeming with film composers, so despite months of pleading no visa was forthcoming.

Shame on you then, what benefits for you and you family can there possibly be in this chaotic exit? Answer now please.
There no shame in voting. You need to ask those that didn't vote.

There's no shame in voting as it's a democratic right you know. You should save your ire for those that didn't vote.

what mistake? No mistake from me as I knew exactly what I was voting for.

How on earth can you say that with any certainty???? You may have known what you wanted the outcome to be, but you never ever could have been convinced that that was what it was ever going to be. Some wanted to leave but did they want to fall of a cliff at the same time?

There are just too my variables and different viewpoints. Just because a group of people voted to leave doesn't mean they all wanted exactly the very same outcome. Thats why we are in such a mess. Unlike a general election we can't vote for a reversal in 4-5 years. This is it.

The case that prompted this discussion is shameful. On that there would be full agreement, I would hope.

If I had to point a finger it would be at the right wing press who peddle disinformation. When I Daniel Blake was first released, the Daily Mail described it as propoganda. My wife and I have been involved with the Foodbank movement for far too long, and found it hard to believe that any intelligent person could accept this view. But, sure enough, a few weeks later at a gathering of the chattering classes my wife's suggestion that the film needed to be seen by everyone was met with howls of derision from a number of people who proceeded to tell us about scroungers and beggars who make "a fortune" etc etc. Their source was, of course, The Daily Mail.

I truly despair.

Sorry but i can be certain.politically i do not want to be in the EU.

Just catching up and <applause><applause><applause><applause><applause><applause><applause><applause><applause><applause> 100%. One world, one life, embrace it. Build bridges not walls.
Seamlessly traveling to Cologne from the Hague on the ICE train, no border, same currency and cheaper prices in Germany. Temperature heading towards 20°C. 3 points v Fulham coming Wednesday. Carnival starts Thursday with women's crazy day parade. Lots of benefits for staying in the EU.

When Norway were considering joining the EU in the 90s, the joiners were told to go and find out the facts before putting it to the people - they did, and decided against it. That`s what should`ve happened here - the facts should have been ascertained before the referendum. I see William Hill now have a second referendum as odds on - fingers crossed!
