You need to learn how it is used now, before you use it again. The alt- right use it to put down any one the disagrees with the racist, hate filled views.
Nope. The alt-right use it to put down any of the crazy PC stuff going around these days. The whole safe spaces and getting offended for the sake of being offended. thin skin. The Neo-Nazis you want to paint everybody as don't use any term to put down people who disagree with their racist hate filled views because they do not care what other people think. They are much more likely to say "Thank you."
snowfloake is not an alt-right term. Left people use it, right people use it. It is not a left/right thing. There are as many people on the left that are as puzzled at the extent PC has taken over what you can say or do as there are on the right. It is nothing to do with political leaning and more to do with not understanding how so many have such a thin skin these days.
There are people in this world that get offended at things no matter the intent.
My Dad the other day came round to drop something off and had a cup of tea as usual. He always used to vote liberal and he said to me "I voted independent this time."
I asked why and he said "All the main parties are more bothered about wrecking each other than mending anything so I voted for that Darkie instead."
My wife was sat to me (who is black) and she didn't bat an eyelid but I cringed a bit there. So I asked "What Darkie."
HE said "That chap from the Caribbean I think that's a musician. He had to pawn his guitar and amp to get the deposit so I thought I would give him my vote and help him get his guitar and amp back."
Now to you that may be racism. My wife looked a little confused to what he meant but the intent of racism was not there. He didn't mean anything by it. HE is not racist at all. Just from another era.
If he had said that in the company of "Generation snowflake" he would have caused them all to faint. They are not interested in intent. They are interested in being offended because they feel they are supposed to be offended.
The fact that my wife's parents call Eastern Africans "darkies" (in portuguese) is not even considered....and the intent definitely is there with them.
People call me alt-right. Some even call me racist sometimes. It is annoying. It may boil over sometimes and I lose my chit but the rest of the time I ignore it. I don't need to go and lie down everytime someone says something that they shouldn't whether the intent is there or not. Hence I am not a snowflake.
