She's not really political [oops, just realised I've repeated what Impsaint has said], but of those celebrities who are, the vast majority back Labour. If it's any consolation, she used to vote Labour, when Blair and Brown were around. Hey, I used to slightly admire Thatcher, and the way she conducted herself, but I never let it cloud my judgement. She put an end to One Nation Conservatism, the one version I could possibly put up with without feeling ill. Blair himself was only just left of One Nation Tories, that's why he was so popular. He occupied the absolute centre ground, but with a Labour spin.

Just watched it on iPlayer. Very assured and confident, and answered the points about the Queen's Speech very well.

A Prime Minister in waiting, I'd say.

Tory forums have Gauke down as one they want pushing to the backbenches. He isn't very popular even in his own party.

So would I.
I just wish a top politician would recognise that half of the people who voted in the referendum didn't want to come out of Europe. Nobody acknowledges that. They always say that the people have spoken. Yes, and they said "we don't really know". Michael Heseltine sort of did acknowledge it, but it's a bit late in the day for him to be a real influence. But it's just like what happened last Thursday. The Electorate aren't entirely clear what they really want, because basically, a significant proportion of them don't know what any of it means. Nearly a third don't care enough to vote, so that leaves an undemocratic rump who vote with either self interest, conscience, knowledge, tradition, and/or a combination of all four.

If half the population didn;t want to come out of Europe then why did they vote for Labour or Tory when both say we will be coming out of Europe and both say Freedom of movement will end?

Why did the Lib Dems lose support in England?

You can be a very silly poster, Impsaint. You miss the obvious. Is it deliberate.? It's all to do with being a creditable and electable party, and most of those remainers realised that the Labour Party was the best vote to kick out the Tories, pro-hope vote, best for those who can't look after themselves vote, best vote for YOU vote [even if you don't think so]. London's traditionally Tory areas voted hugely to kick them out. That was their answer to not staying in Europe when a clear 70% of them wanted to.
