None of it makes much sense. China, Japan and Korea buy most of Iran's oil and one of the ships was Japanese? None of these countries can just stop buying Iranian crude because their refineries are set up to process that grade of oil. Worse though, the environmental effect of one of these ships breaking up full of crude oil. Which coast would it wash up on? Iran's or UAE's?
Perhaps the best thing that could result if Labour win the next election, would be that JC would distance himself from the current administration in Washington DC, a la the great Harold Wilson.
I feel a tab sad that Chuka jumped ship, as there is unlikely to be a serious career for him with the Lib Dems. Should have stayed with Labour. Having said that I hope he is re-elected with a massive majority as he is, along with David Lammy, one of the politicians I really like.
I don´t know why we need to be critical of Chuka as he has been a Remainer throughout, when it is the likes of Johnson we need to slaughter, and to keep on doing it until he is driven out of politics. In the context of the present situation, Chuka is small fry. Let´s concéntrate on hammering the Tories.

What principles hasn´t Chuka got? He has been very constant on the EU aspect. As regards changing party, Winston Churchill did several times. Is he equally unprincipled? Enoch Powell, another. The guy who changed from the Tories to Labour and became a cabinet minister in Blair´s Government? If you ask me Corbyn is rather unprincpled in not backing the UK´s continued membership of the EU because if the UK leaves that is stripping us all of our citizenship. And that is a right that we have paid for and to take that away beggars belief.
You were never a citizen of the EU, merely a citizen of a member country. If Brexit happens, you remain a British Citizen. Regarding Chuka, he signed up to a series of policies by standing for the Party he was elected for. He then jumped ship to a new group as he realised he wasn't getting the political power in his original choice. When he realised that the new group were meaningless and powerless, he's changed again. Chuka is all about Chuka and will go anywhere for power and advancement. The fact that others have done it in the past doesn't make it any better.
I see nothing wrong with someone, even a politician, changing their mind, if they do it for the principled reason that they've realised their politic was wrong. Re-aligning or adjusting their position would be the honest thing to do. But, on the surface, doing it for one's own upward status, can appear the same. Take Boris Johnson [please]. He adjusts his position for the betterment of Boris Johnson, and only Boris Johnson. The betterment of others in that process may be incidental and necessary to further his own status. If it's not, he won't bother. He is without principle and therefore can't be trusted.
If Chuka was after power and advancement, then surely he would have bided his time in the Labour party for the Corbyn era to run its course? As wonderful and as enlightened the Libs Dems may be, they are hardly going to be in a position of power any time soon. And I do not think Chuka would ever become a Tory.

Dunno Ides. If you are a Remainer you will find a home with Lib Dems, who are passionate for staying within the EU. And Greens too. If the Greens and Lib Dems could find common ground they'd be a very sizeable power. At the moment they dilute what they have. I can see that every time I vote it will be either Green or Lib Dem. Jeremy isn't committed to remaining I'm afraid, and is missing the opportunity to insist upon a second referendum with a properly informed general public. That's a shame, cause that puts him on the sidelines, as far as I'm concerned.
Do remember that the Strait of Hormuz is arguably strategically the most dangerous stretch of water on the planet. The fact that something doesn't happen on a weekly or monthly basis is a bit of a surprise to me, tbh.
