I hadn't considered tactical voting in this election. I am not sure that the Greens will withdraw any candidate. They will attract the Left from the Labour Party.
The polls are suggesting that Farage's candidate will run Labour close. Reform getting in is not improbable and I worry that Streeting will be less appealing as Labour leader than Starmer. It is staggering how they have descended this low and are ripping themselves apart within 2 years yet the comments about the "black hole" in the funding was as about the worse start that Labour could have had.

Just watching the clips regarding the "Unite the nation" protests. I think that this is a disgrace and glad to see that there was not a great deal of support for these idiots.
I am not sure why they are protesting. It just seems to be aa mixture of movements, the flag of the Iranian Shah jostling with Israeli, English, Welsh, Cornish flags and the Union Jack. I would have thought that many of these nations would be opposed to each other and seeing the Cornish flag just seems bizarre. I think that we have reached the point where something needs to be done with national flags being highjacked. There has been a lot of debate this week with Reform councils banning Ukrainian flags from council building where they were previously flying in support again Russian aggression. Reform are demanding only Union Jack and St George flag - no consideration for those morons who support him in Wales and Scotland, then !! There was an interesting review of a local politician in the US who stated that she could not longer have respect for the American flag and that the rainbow flag of the LGBT+ movement was now the most appropriate flag to incorporate inclusivity in the US, I think we are fast approaching the situation in the UK where both the Union Jack and St George Cross are being weaponised to create division. I could see the point of the America politician's argument.
I cannot believe that the UK is now in a situation where Tommy Johnson is at liberty and also allowed to organise protests. I just feel that Labour have been so weak at controlling this and I can see why many are calling for Starmer to step down. Instead of dealing with Reform, Labour seem intimidated. They do not know what to do. Banning "Unite the nation" would have been a start.
I heard former cabinet minister Miatta Fahnbulleh being interviewed by Nick Robinson on Radio 4 tonight and I felt that she made some really good points which underscored for me that, although she was born in Liberia, she has a far better grasp of what the UK should be like than these idiots on protest today. She noted the change in attitude in the last 5 years. It is not possible to disagree and I fear where we will be in 2031 untless something drastic is done. The "Unite the nation" fools have no proper understanding of what this country is about and I just feel that we need to ostracise them as much as possible even if this means putting restrictions on or banning the Union Jack and flag of St George and prohibiting their support. They need to be proscribed. They have tarnished these flags which now stands for hatred and division. I strongly feel that the law should be much stronger in restricting the misrepresentation of the flag of St George. The Union Jack is obsolete and needs to be ditched regardless . Most people in Scotland are pro SNP and having the saltire on a United Kingdom flag is disrespectful. I am also unsettled to see the Union Jack and extreme Christianity conflated . Given the demise of Christianity and the fact that we are multi-cultural, we are overdue to remove references to Christianity on national flags in Europe. Any crosses need to be omitted from the design of flags. We need a new flag in this country that everyone can united under regardless of race or religion, something like green, white and black horizontal stripes.
I get the point about freedom of speech and concur that this needs to be protected but this is now being used by the Right to defend religious and racial hatred. As Fahnbulleh said this afternoon, she is now having to look behind her now as she gets so much confrontation from white people who are stirring up hatred against Jews, Muslims, Sikhs, etc. This is all down to Farage and his St George flag wielding supporters demanding "their country back."
