Edit, Lemmo already posted so I'll change appealing to appalling.
The problem is that he/his team will appeal, to a higher and higher court, up to and including the Supreme Court, which has a 6-3 majority of judges who are 'Conservative Minded', so are likely to overturn this judgement. He might not appeal, the Supreme Court might not overturn the decision that Trump does not have presidential immunity. Pigs might fly.
He's appealing of course and the case could go to the Supreme Court where conservatives hold a 6-3 majority.
I think conservative now means conserve money in your pocket and not much else.If the judges are genuinely judges- and not just sycophants- then they will rule against Trump. Being a conservative is supposed to mean MORE of a stickler for law.
Not less.
Yep; genuine was the key word in the original post.I think conservative now means conserve money in your pocket and not much else.

Like him or hate him, he has balls of steel for doing this.

He has balls of steel for doing what will invariably be a fawning interview of a dictator?
Dialogue and free speech are always the first steps towards brokering peace.
It's going to be 30 minutes of Carlson tongue-bathing Vladimir Putin as the saviour of western civilization, something he has been doing for years now. The Kremlin wouldn't have granted the interview otherwise, and I struggle to see how whitewashing Putin's reputation furthers the cause of peace.
As always Os, you're nothing if not consistent.
So are you. Attack the poster without making any good points.
For me it’s a very simple equation. The more communication, the less war.
An interview with Putin from a western journalist is a good idea. Anything that can de-escalate the war machine’s propaganda is worth a try.
So I was not surprised by the recent article by Ben Judah in Politico, quoting among others Radek Sikorski, the former foreign minister of Poland, who is now speaker of the Sejm, the Polish parliament (full disclosure: both men are friends of mine). Sikorski described Putin telling the then Polish prime minister, Donald Tusk, at a meeting in Moscow that: “Ukraine is an artificial country and that Lwów is a Polish city […] why don’t we just sort it out together? Luckily Tusk didn’t answer. He knew he was being recorded.”
Poland boiled over in outrage. Why had Sikorski and Tusk not made this public at the time? Why had they not warned Ukraine? If true, it was treasonous dereliction of duty. If not, it was rank fantasy. When it turned out that no such meeting had taken place in Moscow, Sikorski tried to apologise, lamely blaming faulty memory. The new prime minister, Ewa Kopacz, unhelpfully berated him. Then Tusk denied that he had ever discussed Ukraine with Putin.
Luckily for Sikorski, an official note-taker did record Putin (in Poland, not in Moscow, but who cares?) telling Tusk that Lwów – Lviv, as it is known to Ukrainians – used to be Polish. But more importantly, the ‘revelation’ was a surprise only to outsiders. Numerous European politicians know that Putin has suggested dividing Ukraine – not only with Poland, but with Hungary and Romania too.

This guy is a raving imbecile.
On March 3, as Russian military forces bombed Ukrainian cities as part of Vladimir Putin’s illegal invasion of his neighbor, the Kremlin sent out talking points to state-friendly media outlets with a request: Use more Tucker Carlson.
“It is essential to use as much as possible fragments of broadcasts of the popular Fox News host Tucker Carlson, who sharply criticizes the actions of the United States [and] NATO, their negative role in unleashing the conflict in Ukraine, [and] the defiantly provocative behavior from the leadership of the Western countries and NATO towards the Russian Federation and towards President Putin, personally,” advises the 12-page document written in Russian. It sums up Carlson’s position: “Russia is only protecting its interests and security.” The memo includes a quote from Carlson: “And how would the US behave if such a situation developed in neighboring Mexico or Canada?”
