Impeaching him would be an absolute gift for Biden's reelection, given that they have failed to turn up even a credible suggestion of wrongdoing in two years of investigations. In all likelihood, they won't actually impeach -- dubious they can even get the votes in the Republican-held House, and the trial in the Senate would be massively counterproductive for them -- but just want to use the words "Biden" and "impeachment" in the same sentence for the next year.

If having a dodgy close relative was enough to get impeached, few presidents would have seen out their term. Some recent ones:
- Jimmy Carter was a somewhat ineffective president (wonderful human being though), but he was squeaky clean. His brother Billy? An alcoholic and registered foreign agent for Gaddafi and Libya.
- George HW Bush's eldest son was a draft-dodging alcoholic with a DUI on his record (and also the future President of the United States).
- Bill Clinton's brother had multiple DUIs, and took money from a mobster in an utterly hopeless bid to lobby for a Gambino mafia family member to be pardoned.
- Trump's kids are the epitome of failsons, with his eldest having -- per the Mueller report -- almost definitely violated the law in soliciting help from Russian intelligence to affect the 2016 election, but was deemed too stupid to understand that he was violating the law. Also has a raging cocaine habit.

Take a look at LBJ!!!! It just seems that the US love Presidents that are alcoholics, addicted to sex, are in league with the mafia, denied freedom to the slaves who worked on their plantations, had multiple affairs, involved in pay-offs to have someone removed, waved jumbos about in the line of duty. So is Trump any different from many previoius Presidents?
I mean, yeah. There are a lot of presidents who had massive personal failings. There are a lot of presidents who did really bad things in the line of duty. There is only one president that attempted to rally his supporters to overthrow democracy by way of seizing the Capitol. He isn't the only awful president, but he is uniquely awful.
Lots of US Presidents, and other world leaders, have had character defects glaring enough to match or even eclipse their benign qualities. Trump is the only one who comes to mind, who seems entirely devoid of benign qualities. The man’s character is nothing but defects.
Does the abominable Johnson have any redeeming features or benign qualities? I think not, along with the likes of Rees Mogg, Gove, Patel Braverman & Co.
Boris did have some understanding of public policy, even if he preferred to pretend that he didn't in order to pander. Trump is a being of pure id, and his ignorance is genuine; he knew nothing about government when he entered office and he arguably knew even less when he exited. I don't know whether the fact that Boris could have been a passable leader -- if he wasn't so lazy/selfish/consumed by hubris -- makes him better or worse, but it is a point of separation between them.
I agree with Schad. I quite liked Boris as Mayor of London. He chose to morally bankrupt himself as he never believed in Brexit but took the populist route to power. I think if he had led as he truly believes he could have been ok. But that doesn’t forgive him for being an arrogant bully.
I don't think he was one, but I think he had the intellectual capacity to be one.
I can't help but feel that the British Johnson is worming his way back into mainstream politics. With Sunak at the helm, and seemingly leading the Conservatives to apparent oblivion, I can;t help but think that Tory members will put pressure on their MPs to get BJ back and relected as leader in the hope that his apparent "charisma" is sufficent to get the Tory vote out which would otherswise stay at home.
Honestly, the opposite. If you put a pigeon in office, you can't really blame the pigeon for being a bad leader...it's a damned pigeon! But Boris had all of the necessary ingredients to be a competent leader, and the fact that he wasn't one is a reflection of his deeply flawed character. He was extremely lazy, vainglorious and only seemed to want the job to fluff his own ego, and consequently he was a terrible PM.

The 'whistleblower' to whom you refer has provided zero evidence, and also happens to be a wanted fugitive (and was indicted before he became a whistleblower, I might add, so spare me the conspiracies). He appears to have been angling for an immunity deal from House Republicans, but it wasn't forthcoming. He has zero known connections to the Bidens.
