Obviously one on of his major faults. Supporting Surrey and not Middlesex!! No doubt he will be at Lords on Saturday for the final against Warwickshire.
Tickets are still available I think. Was thinking of going along, but I've swapped my Friday shift for Saturday so I can stay down South on Thursday night.
With you on the first wish. Went to the Oval twice this year, saw a lot of rain and very little cricket.
Is there anything more political than cricket? There are plenty of cricketing metaphors to use when talking about politicians and politics. Cameron has declared his innings is over!!
Back at politics ... Can anyone ever remember seeing Theresa May and Nigel Farage in the same place? Look at the evidence. May doesn't draw attention to herself through the referendum (mustn't be too obvious) but now grammar schools, Brexit is Brexit - what next? Get ready for the May slip when she orders a pint of bitter rather than a gin and tonic.
Very strange situation in the US right now. Trump has a strong base of voters who will support him no matter what stupid or offensive he is. Indeed, every bone-headed can statement only strengthens their support. At the same time, he cannot appeal to anyone else, so he can't expand his base either. So the election will be decided by how many people fail to show up at the polls for either candidate, or which third part candidate manages to siphon off the most votes from someone. Or to put it another way, how much of the US is racist, but won't admit it?
Trump has the ability to make.......................................shocking politicians like Berlusconi and Rajoy look outstanding by comparison. If the USA has the misfortune to elect him, I would hope our PM, Teresa May keeps her dignity and never meets him on official head of state duties.
What, like not going to the G8? Also a massive insult to the voting public of the USA. It's up to us to instruct other countries on how to vote? British PMs have met Hitler, Stalin, Mao, but Trump is too much?
