Thing is there isn’t really a way of reflecting that something is tongue in cheek via text on the internet

I am not going to ask for proof or sources - notice how I didn’t in the first response. I also have no intention of researching through post history. Who knows how long it could take

The comment about the DM and The Sun was not meant to shut down anything. Again i am not going to go through the history of this forum to learn that is how it is used. In this case I am just aware of the outright hate those publications have for the man with hatchet job after hatchet job whilst ignoring outright corruption and criminality from the Tories. That is why i brought them up

And it is fascinating that you mention they are used as a way to shut things down and then use them as an attempt to try and discredit me. Very interesting indeed. Perhaps you don’t spot the hypocrisy or just don’t care

And I don’t have any idea what historical posts of mine you could be referring to. Perhaps some of the covid ones where I was intentionally trying to point out how people on the anti side of many of the covid measures argue or respond to methods of argument (notably the “do your research” demand - which is intentionally why I didn’t go there)

I've been reading back over Ian's posts, they are interesting to say the least. Good to see that Uncle Joe is alive and well in the form of comrade Thumwood.
Yes, this current government has been embroiled in sleaze of the highest order and deserves to be held to account,(individually and as a party) but to suggest the forced disbandment of the conservative party is batshit crazy. Complaining about the current breakdown of democracy and then suggesting that beggars belief.
Even as someone who has never voted for them can see that. Any particular gulag in mind Ian or just straight to the firing squad?
Slightly more worrying is the amount of likes it's received though.
Then to hold up China and Venezuela as examples of successful communism just about tops it off.
Are people here so desperate to replace this government they will agree with measures even more extreme than those we are facing now?

No I don't see the hypocrisy. You were comparing what I was saying to what you might find in the DM or The Sun and I think it is tactic commonly seen on here.

I wasn't referring to any particular post but from what I have read, your replies are usually measured and articulate. I didn't think including the Sun and the DM in your answer was up to your usual standard. Could do better. (joke)
