Whilst there is some truth in this, it’s worth bearing in mind that newspapers are businesses, and businesses only thrive by giving their customers what they want. The wider point being that the prejudice, rage, and fear which these papers propagate, is the same prejudice, rage and fear their readers recognise in themselves.
More Pie, bit old but still to the point.

Another good article from BBC, detailing the child abuse investigation errors looking into the 27 year Labour MP, Janner.

"The inquiry also examined the Labour Party's response to the allegations, saying it was not enough for it to leave it to the police and CPS due to Lord Janner's "privileged and powerful position".

I was surprised some of our resident news feeds on here hasn't posted this. Obviously missed it in error :emoticon-0105-wink:

Angel (Hangel) A great Spanish name!!!!

Something to look out for, on your next trip to an EU country.
A UK woman visited Spain in June, for a week. Her passport was stamped on entry but it wasn’t stamped when she left, at the end of her stay.
Fast forward to the end of September when she flew to Gibraltar and then tried to enter Spain via their border.
The border police noticed that she never had a departure stamp on her passport, from her previous trip and accused her of having been in Spain for more than 90 days, and threatened her with arrest if she continued to cross the border for illegally outstaying her time in Spain.
She had evidence of having been back in the UK in the previous months, but they weren’t interested in listening.
End result was that she didn’t cross into Spain and returned to the UK.
Not sure how she will resolve that now, as she still doesn’t have a departure stamp in her passport.
Just another Brexit bonus.

"In the interests of balance, here’s a good article on how completely ****ed Labour are:"

Good article that. ****ed indeed, poor opposition to a more than poor government.
The likelihood of cross-party collaboration is pretty distant and without it a fifth term for the current incumbents is the outcome at the next barring some sort of massive upheaval.

I wondered when I read that how many years each ruling party was in power, as that may impact how many recessions etc they had to deal with, as that would naturally place a party ruling more years having to deal with more stuff.

Either way it was a poorly written article with not much statistical analysis or data, from what I could tell.

The Prime Minister and various other ministers say that fire and rehire is wrong.
Yesterday, second reading of a bill, brought forward by Barry Gardiner, to outlaw the practice, is filibustered by the Tory business secretary, to prevent a vote exposing the true thoughts of the government, to the process.
Meanwhile Weetabix is going through the fire and rehire process that could cost some workers £5000 per year.
