When I was about 17, still living in Darlo, I was massively into TRB. And relistening I've decided I still am. Great thread diddles!
My Dad was from Ferryhill. My Mam was from a small village just south of Darlo, just into North Yorkshire, Stapleton. That's where I was brought up. We lived in a little estate of eight council houses, but of course council housing was destroyed by Thatcher. Bliar went along with this ****e. BTW, I'm ****ing fuming with Diddles, he's forcing me to drink huge amounts of alcohol and listen to my favourite political songs;-)
I know Stapleton, on the back road way to Richmond. The Bridge used to be out of this world as restaurant. Proper top notch grub. Big lover of the local area south of Darlo. Love north Yorkshire in general. Feels like a place to make home when ever i go there. I'd love a place in Richmond.
The Legendary Yothu Yindi - sadly the lead singer, Manadawuy Yunnupingu passed away some time ago. This group became the "Dahlings of the Disco-Set" with this release:
Don't know why this thread has resurfaced but I'd also love to live in Richmond, only been there once for the day but I thought it was amazing and when we eventually move from here it's one place we'll be looking at.
