I think you are right about something at last. The local cleaner rates are excessive, my wife and daughter should up their game and cover these duties.

As someone who has been at dozens, maybe hundreds of weddings, I have only once seen the possibility of a dodgy one, and after consideration thought it was genuine. Today I read of the Home Office taking action that I find totally unacceptable. Is the country really coming to this?

What sort of country do we want? One that empowers people to come into your bedroom and quiz you on your sexual habits. Quite disgraceful.

part of the onward drift to a totalitarian/ fascist state , we seem to be at a cross roads moment , without a change of political direction it feels we are on a right ward trajectory, however masses of us are opposed to such a situation!

There are plenty of areas that you and I would not agree on, but I think we are both alarmed by the direction that the country is taking. The Home Secretary of the day who started the 'hostile environment' towards people is now the PM, and I see her trying to carry out policies now that she failed with before she became PM. Just how much more can our society be broken up by failed Tory policies? Maybe these are not failed policies, but a deliberate attempt to destroy what for years has been thought of as decent regard for all, and go back to the Victorian slums and life for the owners, but existence for the masses.

indeed , it’s a crude policy to dismantle the welfare state and open up the monetisation of every facet of life , appaling really , no doubt some gleeful supporter of this notion will come and say how good it is !

And in the bastion of establishment country the farmers are furious at the failure of the government to pay farmers the set aside subsidies due. Apparently they hope to pay up for 2017 by midsummer.. A letter from Goves Sept to farmers gives the Samaritans as a source of help.. Crazy..

I have mentioned this several times before. A small family farm that I know in Cumbria can wait months if not years to receive the subsidies due to them, while the millionaire landowners who receive huge sums get paid out on time. Seeing as it is the UK government who pay up on behalf of the EU, they are using the small farmer as a means of controlling their cash flow. To hell with the small man while the largest owners cannot be upset as they will vote for us.
