Some have to invent stories to bolster their weak stance.

If you want to find far right politicians affecting policies look to Germany, France, Italy, Austria etc etc.

So the Daily Mail with a change of editor is going to slowly change the policy of supporting Brexit to one of supporting the least damaging version of it. By that admission it knows it will be damaging.

Can you define what you mean by 'far right' before going on with this ? In what way, for example, is the AfD far right of Ukip, when Farage helped them with their election campaign.

Was there not a recent storm about the AfD youth wing having a very similar logo to the early storm troopers? The AfD's leader has also recently been criticised for trivialising the Holocaust.

We have millions voting for the Front National in France, Austria's government is considered to be far right by all. Merkel has boosted support for the far right all over Europe with her disastrous 'open door' policy.

You still haven't answered the question of what you mean by 'far right'.

Far right politics means further to the right of standard right politics. Surely you could have looked this up yourself?

You are certainly in the right country to study practical historical examples of Nationalism with the Nazis believing they were superior to other nations and creeds.

It might surprise you to know that I am in the worst country of all to study this phenomenon. The publication of Mein Kampf is forbidden here in Germany. You can also get up to 2 years in prison for using a Heil Hitler salute in public. Anything which denies, or really trivializes, the holocaust here in Germany is also a criminal offence - so I suggest you research exactly what the leader of the AfD said, before quoting it on here.

He described the Nazis as 'a speck of birds' in 1,000 years of glorious German history' when he spoke at a meeting of the AfD's youth wing.

The trivialisation seemed to annoy many in Germany.

But can you define what you mean by left and right wing before talking about extremes of either ? Using extreme left to mean a belief in the collective ownership of the means of production, then extreme right should mean exactly the opposite - ie. Neo Liberal, free market unrestrained capitalism - adherants of the Vienna School of Economics - the darling of the extreme right would then be Friedrich Hayek, who had such an influence on the thinking of Margaret Thatcher.

This was not a trivialization but rather to emphasize that the horrors of the holocaust amount to no more than a few years out of 1,000 - should Germany only remember the holocaust and not the other 1,000 years ? Germany does not have to constantly define itself, and it's entire history, with reference to the monstrosities of a party of thugs. Germany is more than the holocaust, just as Spain is more than the inquisition, and Britain is more than just the human rights violations of it's former empire. Must the Germans drag their guilt around forever, like a millstone around the necks of future generations ?

Jan Böhmermann, one of Germany’s best k

Sorry this may interest you but I find it boring. I'm quite happy to accept the general consensus of political commentators and experts who generally are pretty accurate with their comparisons.

Look up the official definitions if you like, most people accept the broad labels as a guide.

Some Germans took exception to it, including the chairman of the CDU.

What 'official definitions' ? These terms have meant different things through the ages, and have different connotations in different countries. They also have a different meaning depending on where a person is on the political spectrum. You use words as if they had fixed, universally accepted, meanings. Whether 'left wing', 'right wing', 'Marxist', 'Trotskyist' etc. etc. Yet you do not define what you mean by any of them.

Germans take exception to things very easily. As you can imagine it is a far more sensitive theme here. However, I have said as much as I have to say regarding the context of what he said - and have nothing to add. If you either do not want to understand my explanation, or are incapable of it, then that is your problem.
