Well, under the Tory government, the productivity level of British workers is at a 200 year low - suggesting that inactivity is the norm for them. By actually doing something, such as going on strike, they are then being active.

I don't suppose too many will agree with me, but I think this young lass is destined for greater things. Her speech at the SNP conference yesterday showed that she has lost none of her passion and, for me, it can't be faulted.

She certainly overshadowed Sturgeon who received muted support for her overdue realisation that the independence idea is finished. At least Sturgeon understands support for independence is slipping away due to the dire financial situation Scotland is now in. Anyone can call for independence in a SNP filled hall, convincing the Scottish public is much much harder.

I read this report and really do wonder how far back in time the government wishes to take us.

    http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-41501554

In 1904 my grandfather died at a very early age, leaving a widow and two small children. The house that they lived in was tied to his job, so they had to move out. Being homeless they went to Bolton where a relative lived, but that house was too small to accommodate them. The only place available was the Union Workhouse, who said they didn't come from the area, so bought three railway tickets to transport them back to Watford.

Are we really back in the age where moving people away from our sensibilities is thought the right thing to do?

Ha ha! The reason the productivity is so low is lack of investment , by the owners in equipment training, and by the government in infrastructure and education.
Companies don't invest because of the obsession with short term profit and short term share price rises. The reason the govt doesn't invest is ideology and listening to rich people instead of intelligent people.

Shameful government - which is why I would never vote Tory.
Shameful BBC - which is why I will never pay for a TV licence.

Is the low life Labour MP Jared O'Mara typical of Comrade Corbyn's new intake. Apart from his insults he hardly turns up for parliament sessions and is regularly hung over for his weekly constituency surgery.

Is this the best they can find?

In a stupid election caused by the prime minister's father being a ****ing idiot and supporting a paedophile to have his reputation restored the Independence party lost 5 seats but still have biggest vote and most seats. To have a reputation restored is very old idea here and is from the days of proper Vikings and outlaws.

    D is Independence party
    V Left green
    S Social Democratic
    M Centre party
    B Progressive
    P is Pirate’s party
    F People’s Party
    C Restoration
    A Bright Future
    R People’s Front
    T Dawn
There are extra seats to be divided through parties with more than 5% of national vote, but is complicated as the groups with small votes gain most for the system.

That sounds as complicated as the two-part Scottish system, where the more votes a party gets, the less seats it gets.
