The education system in mainland Europe is generally of a much higher standard than ours. It's our nation of Jeremy Kylers and superhornsers that would struggle to place their own country on a map, let alone anyone else's.

You keep on throwing out absolutely unproven right-wing soundbites, and as soon as you're asked to justify your points you instantly switch to the next tired right-wing cliché. You even called the Nazis socialists ffs.

    What's next? Climate change denial?

You had to deliberate? Were you considering a move to Scotland in order to vote SNP? :)

Sadly, there's often not much difference between small and small-minded when it comes to regional and local government. It's very noticeable down here how town-centric local politics is, often at the expense of villages. In theory small government shows greater respect for local issues but the practice is still often hampered by the interests of the local politicians themselves.

    Watford supporter since 1967.

As football is a predominately based working class sport it is fairly obvious that debating politics with a right wing view in a football forum will be like rowing against the tide.

If you don't want me to post I will stop.

More and more people realise that the SNP are a vehicle, a means to an end, not an end in themselves. The SNP knows this. It is a movement rather than a party.

As Toby has just pointed out that is a very weak generalisation and also wide of the mark. There is a wide range of political views on here and, in the main, the discussion is very convivial despite disagreements. You are copping flack because you are deliberately trying to wind people up. I cannot speak for others but don't want you to stop posting - although if your discussion tactics do not change you can not complain if people criticise you for it.

Nonsense, I am not deliberately winding people up. I put my views forward and fully except that others, although misguided, have their view. If I was spouting the lefty line you would have no problem, bit like the BBC.

Weak generalisations seem to be a strong feature of this thread. I can buy into the idea that football is more of a working man's sport than a toff's game. There do seem to be a lot more people here who are anti right rather than anti left wing and although superhorns does not help his cause by the way he argues he does not seem to have many others arguing against state control.

Why does anyone care? Who believes that in 5 years anything will be slightly different from now or five years ago. There will still be £1.5 trillion national debt or worse, there will still be budget deficits, the NHS will still be in crisis, the number in poverty will still be more than it should be, there will still be food banks, bankers and the super rich will still be doing better than the rest of us, the Greens will still be peddling ideas that parties can peddle when they don't have to practice them, the SNP will still be focussed only on Scotland - and nobody will ever read a manifesto as the lies in them will be the same so nobody has a clue what a government says it will do and will actually do. Politicians and others will still lie, cheat and look after themselves. It's a game we are conned into trying to play. Cynical ? Yes

Those of us of a certain age can recall a time, when there were no beggars on streets, there was housing for all who needed it, education was free ,andpeople had jobs with dignity -along came the Thatcher regime -and that's what they are regimes, the rest has been a succession of lackeys to capitalism -so to be blunt -it's a human construct that can be changed -but not via Westminster politricks

`Not deliberately winding people up' must be the joke of the century. Apparently I have connections with the Stasi - others are fools, or silly, because they happen to have different ideas to your own. The only way you can go into a debate of this sort is with the assumption that other people also have sound reason for their beliefs.

Populations tend to get the politicians that they deserve. I have said elsewhere that only 1% of the British population are party members (in other words are politically active), they leave this to others and end up paying the cost for their inertia. The 'State' is not something remote on a hill but rather you, I, all of us.

Or you could say until Blair came along and encoraged mass economic migration to this country. How can any country support an increase of 300K year in, year out?
