No, that's just what you're choosing to interpret from it.

By supporting the Tories you're making light of people committing suicide due to bedroom tax/benefits being withdrawn/DLA changes and recent cuts to benefits for the disabled.

    I hope you're proud of it <applause>

W-Y, you won't get much sense out of Toby, he is one of life's victims, a permanent loser, a mummy's boy.

Can we try to get this thread back onto the theme of discussing politics rather than making insinuations about other people who we know little about. It is called a politics thread and not an 'insults' one. Criticizing another posters ideas is one thing - making assumptions about them as people is something quite different.

I would be very happy to make assumptions about Ian Duncan Smith.

The quiet man is back and making an even bigger prick of himself than he used to.

Worth noting that people on this thread got on pretty well until.......

I think all of us who have been on these boards for any length of time will know this to be true...

Very interesting unfolding of the IDS saga.

Reading the backstories from his ministerial team.... all seems just a bit odd.....

Is this a public dissociation... prior to the referendum and a future leadership challenge...... ?

No, IDS is a thoroughly decent and intelligent guy who was pushed too far by Osborne's narrow options on welfare cuts. This has certainly damaged Osborne's premiership hopes. He has managed to appear mean whilst not properly cutting costs. The tax giveaways to the better off, although in the Tory manifesto, was ill timed, a bit of an own goal.

However it will all be forgotten by 2020.

Will we still have a government after the referendum ? Cameron has said that he would stay on even if 'Brexit' won the day, but could he ? If this Tory civil war becomes less 'civil',leading to votes of no confidence etc. then we could have another election well before 2020.
