The 25-year old was released by the Red Devils following their relegation from the Bundesliga 2 and has been on the lookout for a new club right across the summer. He posted a snap on his Instagram story today of the club badge at the Academy of Light. please log in to view this image No decision has been made yet on the forward, though, and immediately the priority is finding someone capable of immediately stepping in and playing League One football. Przybyłko, at 6”4, would be an alternative to Charlie Wyke in the event that he did sign, but his poor injury record in the last two years counts against him and he’ll need to prove both his fitness and quality further yet if he is to earn himself a contract with Jack Ross’ side. His pedigree during his younger years is decent - he represented his country at just about every youth level and played up top for FC Koln in the Bundesliga, also taking in spells with Greuther Fürth and Arminia Bielefeld. please log in to view this image
It's that old injury prone record that concerns me. Another Anichebe.....brick sh*thouse but never plays? With 46 league games plus cup competitions....we need players who can play on a regular basis......
Yeah it's a mistake we've made in the past that we'd do well to avoid now. As soon as I see us linked with a player with injury problems my heart sinks, if there aren't any half decent potential permanent signings on the table I'd rather we tried for a loan for an injury free player.
If he’s been on trial for weeks he can’t have impressed that much if they’ve not offered him anything.
Or hey wouldn’t have kept him around if he hadn’t and they are monitoring his fitness? Know literally **** all about the lad but trials tend to be days if there’s no interest.
True. But now Sinclair is out for a month or so we’ll sign him if he’s any good as we need the cover. I’m still holding hope of getting a first team striker name in. Still hoping for Sharp at the last minute as he didn’t get a kick for Shef Utd the other day.
I told Joe Kinnear and he will be able to pronounce his surname by Christmas !, tricky for commentators as well, lets just sign players like Billy smith. Anyhow we need a striker in fast so will be interesting today the transfer deadline, will Catts leave and we replace him ? I reckon there will be a few surprises tonight lads.
Sounds good, but I remember being amazed that we could sign someone from Bayern Munich before the injuries started to mount up...
Roker Report think we should sign him on the basis that his goals to game time ratio is almost the same as Wyke's and at 6'4 he's a different option to the others and someone to make use of the likes of Oviedo's, Matthews', McGuire's and McGeady's crosses, they do have a point there. They think there's a chance his injury record is a result of being rushed back to try and help out in the relegation battle his team were having and if there's less pressure to play him and he can grab 20 minutes at the end of games to bully tired defences he'd be useful. Who knows, if he's cheap as chips and keen to play for us it might be a minor risk worth taking.
I don't see why not really if he costs very little and they're happy with where he's at physically. Don't want too many sick notes on the books but for the right price it might be worth it depending on what loans we're looking at for the same position.
