Poldolski - Liverpool is the best team we played this season

Out of the thrashings Arsenal got recently for example 6-0 Chelsea score.

He still said 5-1 beating from Liverpool was the best team they played.

Do you think hes correct? City played very well against you guys as well

Difficult to judge them seeing as we went down to 10-men so early in the game. I don't disagree exactly, they could well have been the best, but we never really got a chance to find out properly.

 

Yeh agree, its ridiculous to say the best team to outplay Arsenal this season was Bayern, when Bayern play position football with extra man most of the game.

I would say Everton played you guys better than Bayern did.

 

Overall if you look at it, Liverpool were the best team we played this season, in the 5-1 game specifically. Bayern were not all that in both games, 11 vs 11 they couldn't beat us, and I don't think they would have beaten us 11 vs 11 at the Emirates.

Fair point but we've out played you twice and the other was a suicidal three at the back system.

If you asked me who the best side we've faced was, I'd say Southampton at the start of the season but then we beat them 3-0 in the second game.

Our FA Cup game was basically Arsenal B VS your full team, and we still came on top.

 

I'm simply answering the question, "who are the best team we've played this season?" the answer is clearly Bayern.

If the question was, "who've played the best football against us this season?" I'd say Everton twice and Liverpool once.

 

I think he meant in the league.

Obviously Bayern are the best team we played.



I have to say the league is in many ways weaker this year.


Arsenal - still not the real deal. We need more quality upfront.
Chelsea - Chelsea cant decide if they are an offensive of defensive unit. Much like us are a little blunt upfront.
ManCity - Hot and cold. City were great before XMAS but they peaked too early and have been going slowly downhill.
Liverpool - In terms of consistantly good attacking play Liverpool have done well. But still, assessing the overall strength of their squad they are not a great team.
Man Utd - RVP's old injury problems have returned. The team looks a shadow of its former self. Shows how great Fergie was really.

 

Not due to any Arsenal act though was it? Plus you can only play what is put up against you - as your comrades argue above in relation to Bayern

 

I think overall Everton have played best against us across the two league games. Each of the other teams have put in at least one average performance against us in the league.

In the cup Wigan are the best team we have played.

And in the champions league it's bayern.

If we are talking the best team we have faced its bayern, if we are saying who played the best against us I'd say most likely Everton, followed by liverpools home game against us (since we totally took them apart when they came to the emirates).

 

Hey I don't care, we still won, so you can be happy about being the 'better' team, nobody else cares nor will anyone else remember you supposedly being the better team, the only thing that matters was the result, which we got, .

 

Bayern are the best team, but they never took you apart. They were not clinical despite playing with extra man.

However at least 4 teams in the League took you apart. And thats what I think Podolski based it on.

 

I feel like the only part of that you read was me saying bayern are the best team we have come up against. Think I've already answered you within the original comment.

 

Think most Arsenal players would stick with Podolski choice than yours.
