Would agree if they were employees, but they are owners / majority shareholders - no? They are not going anywhere unless they choose to.
He was sacked because he wasn't good enough. But Monk might not have been the right replacement. Just because Monk isn't getting results doesn't mean we should have kept Laudrup. They are two separate issues.
Is there really a "might" about it. The statement that Laudrup wasn't good enough is just not valid or supported by the evidence and the manner in which he was not supported by the Board and effectively sabotaged in terms of denying him resources at critical times. You don't sack somebody in a key role unless you have a competent replacement. Barring criminal misconduct or risk of injury to people, which I don't think is the case here, to remove somebody who was executing with a plan in adverse conditions, with clearer sailing ahead, and replace them with somebody without a plan even in better conditions is lunacy.
Laudrup should have never been sacked , all other issues stem from this error . Now the team is healthy and ready, they are starved for the man who put it all together , the team is rudderless and confused without him .
But we don't officially know the reasons why he was sacked only those suggested by some on here. Maybe the supporters trust can directly demand answers from them, as the truth MUST come out soon.
This sacking was premeditated , the sacking of Laudrups agent sent alarms off for me . Throw in Huw whinging about paying 12 million for Bony and thats all I needed to know that Jenkins was searching for reasons to sack Laudrup . By the way Huw , a lot of teams got there radar's pointing toward Bony with the first value set at 15 million from Everton. The profit we make from Bony , if he goes , will pay for Laudrup's involuntarily departure . A double whammy of stupidity from Jenkins .
Don't the Trust already know all the answers ... we have a director on the Board. We - the members - should be demanding an explanation from the Trust's board member.
The question of Laudrup's sacking is still causing some people concern, and consequently is as worthy a topic for discussion as anything else. It will go away, when it goes away, and not before. If there is any "crap" involved then it emanates from the management, via the crappy way they handled it.
You could say that about many topics discussed on here,Dragon. Most are historical and quite often "done to death". That's the nature of the place. How many threads went down "the rissoles" route some time ago? Now if anything was "done to death", it was that. Absolutely NO football connection whatsoever, and numbingly boring after the first reference. At least the Laudrup affair is relevant, you may no longer have any interest in it,and that's fine, but others,me included, do. So,"move on" yourself, and stop being a tart!!! (or a rissole even). P.S. "Don't cry out loud",great track by Elkie Brooks.
Ok you asked for it Vetch! I'm glad Laudrup's gone, he's wrecked our football was clueless tactically and useless with training Long live Garry Monk who has had to pick up the mess he left us in, well done Huw Jenkins for kicking him out............................... please log in to view this image
Well, there you go,as a proponent of free speech,I'm speechless with admiration. However,I disagree with you,and I hope that's O.K. with you. Actually,I know it is.
Nothing wrong with wanting transparency in regards to one of the biggest decisions this football club has made in recent history.
After reading phils post , now I know I'm on the right track ,. We didn't hit a fork in the road when Huw sacked Laudrup , we actually went straight backwards.
OMG the laudrup lovers still refuse to accept that jinks had no choice but to sack the inept laudrup... He was bloody useless at doing his job ffs, and not only crap on match days but crap off the field of play. He undermined Jenkins and the board far too many times and the players could not stand him. We cant run a club like that can we. Its his fault we are where we are and now an ex player has got to fix things and apart from results which is understandable is doing a Stirling job. The football is getting back to what it was and the players are happy again and i know for a fact whether we stay up or go down that monk has got the job on a permanent basis. He has shown jinks and the board enough to be given the job. the only way he wont get the job is if he fails his final exams which he has to get before next season. So forget about anyone else coming in as manager as its not on the agenda for next season, So either get behind monk and what he is doing to fix the mess laudrup left behind or support someone else...your choice monk is going nowhere....
Dai, you seem so certain that Monk will be manager next season, can you find out what the reasons were for sacking Laudrup please
