Are there any footballers you have an irrational hatred for?

Me? Joe Hart. I hate him. I can't look at the telly when he is on. I boycotted Doritos for a while cos he was in the adverts for them. I HATE him. I hate his stupid face, I hate his stupid shaped heid, I hate his voice, I just...bleugh. I don't even know why. I just funking hate him.

<laugh> Boycotting crisps.

Ashley And Rangers

With the announcement that he is putting Newcastle United up for sale, the chips are falling into place for a Mike Ashley takeover at Rangers.
As predicted by this blogger, Ashley could very well be the new man in charge at the troubled club.
The possibility of an Ashley versus Dave King showdown is looking less likely. King simply doesn’t have the firepower that the Sports Direct magnate has and any contest is likely to be short-lived with Ashley a certain winner.

Mike Ashley may not be riding to Rangers rescue after all. I am led to believe that Ashley has been scared off by the fifth columnists in the club support and doesn’t relish taking on disgruntled fan groups again. This is a serious blow to the club at a critical juncture. The news comes when we are awaiting the results of the rights issue which is, frankly, emergency funding for the club. It is my understanding that Graham Wallace has directly appealed to Dave King to step in but all King could witter on about was to seek help from high net worth Rangers fans. He doesn’t have the money and Wallace had to reluctantly report this back to the board. Wallace’s strategy of looking to King is now in shreds.

Grim news for Rangers and great news for those who revel in the club’s misfortunes.

We have lift off!

We cannot really blame Alex Salmond for taking our country to this point. He is a venomous toad and has always been so. No, it is David Cameron’s job to spot a problem which could destabilise the Western economy and threaten the security of the whole planet. The strategic importance of Trident is too great to piss around with in order to satisfy the political lusts of would-be tinpot dictators like Salmond and his racist cronies.

McMurdo's latest offering, highly recommended.

Here it is:
We owe a debt of gratitude to Alex Salmond for the late introduction of Jim Sillars to the campaign for separation.

With the introduction of Sillars we are getting a peek behind the mask at the real face of the SNP and the independence movement.

Sillars was hardly front and centre beside wee Eck on the public stage before he started reminding us all how the SNP were unelectable for years.

Jim Sillars is an old dinosaur who was best kept in the archive cupboard. His “Day of Reckoning” diatribe has alarmed people, probably cost his side a lot of votes but has done us all an incalculable service by showing the nasty heart behind the smiling face of the SNP.

Nationalism can be an ugly and violent thing, as history clearly shows us. The use of the ancient wars between Scotland and England as a metaphor for the separation drive gives a military tone to their cause. All the more amazing since these wars are hundreds of years in the past.

It is not difficult to perceive the veiled threat behind Sillars’ words to banks and businesses. Because the inference is to everybody who will vote NO on Thursday. Your treachery will be met with a day of reckoning. You will not be welcome in a separate Scotland.

And be in no doubt you will be made to feel it.

NO campaigners are reporting increasing levels of intimidation and aggression from their separatist counterparts. Politicians have been targeted and subject to abuse and heckling beyond accepted norms.

In short, Scotland is a powder keg and all of this suits the nationalists. A win on Thursday would open the gates to virtual persecution of anybody who opposed them. And a narrow win for the Union will tip them over the edge in frustration and futile rage.

The buck for this stops with one man and that man is David Cameron.

People should have listened to Jim Wallace whose research proved the very concept of a referendum to break up the UK was illegal. More than that, the issues of national and global security should have prevailed over anything else.

The problem is that nobody knows the full ramifications of tearing Scotland out of the Union. Those ramifications, be they economic, social, cultural, military, political etc could be catastrophic for the whole planet, let alone just the Scots and their fellow Britons.

Why play around with that? Why take such a chance?

Curiously, the SNP mantra about the unfitness of the Westminster system as a valid instrument of governance has been proven in this indyref debate.

Westminster has dropped the ball with this whole separation issue. By allowing what the main parties thought was a sop of democratic expression to the Scottish people, they have shown how little they understand both the dissatisfaction of millions with our cosy political setup – and the burgeoning desire to change it.

The main parties are now seeing the age-old problem with unleashing real democracy – that you provide platforms for those seeking real freedom – but also for those who use freedom to hide their naked lust for power.

Thankfully, Jim Sillars has peeled back the mask of the “freedom” campaign to show us the snarling, evil reality lurking underneath.

As an American poster on this blog recently said, “Scotland, me thinks tyranny is stalking your land, and it’s wearing the smiling face of liberty.”

Chilling words but unerringly accurate.

If we allow ourselves to be deceived by this smiling face, we will all pay a terrible price.

British Nationalism = Good

Any other form of nationalism = A danger to world peace

Good luck folks on Thursday!! With the likes of Spice Boy Becks joining the "Better Together" campaign which includes a whole host of unlikely alliances - Cameron, Milliband, Clegg, Brown and beggar belief George Galloway!!! If I was a Scot I would vote a definite yes!!! And then the money spent on defence can then be spent on proper things like decent housing, energy, transport infrastructure, improving Scotland's economy and industry - all without the inteference of Westminster.
