someone whose MSP asked about the Jingoistic circus at Ibrox said:
As you are aware there was a FoCUS deployment at this match but unfortunately due to where they were in the stadium they did not capture any video footage of the alleged behaviour of the armed services personnel or supporters.
One person was arrested at the Match for a contravention of Sec 1 of the OBTCF Act (2012). As you are also aware our colleagues in Greater Glasgow Division initiated a post match investigation into this matter, this involved capturing all known video footage of events posted on social media sites and contacting those who had made complaints to Police Scotland with a view to identifying witnesses to these events.
Footage from the stadium CCTV was also captured (this does not have sound).
The footage from social media was of a varying quality most of its does contain sound and although it is clear that the song “A Fathers Advice” which glorifies a terrorist organisation is being sung the footage is insufficient quality for identification purposes. Of those who made complaints only one person responded to a request for additional information, this individual complained on the basis of what they had observed on You Tube and was unable to add anything of evidential value.
Enquires with the Armed Services have failed to identify any witnesses or suspects in this matter, however they initiated an internal enquiry into events, although I do not have any update in relation to this enquiry.
There is no doubt that offences under the OBFTC Act (2012) may well have taken place at half time within the confines of Ibrox stadium on Sat 28th of September, regrettably there is insufficient evidence to identify any suspects, clearly if any additional evidence becomes available in relation to this matter this will be considered.
