Looks like Walter the myth is their new chairman , the man that killed their old club by spending money they never had . Could he kill two clubs ???

What caused the OldCo to cease trading was a phantom tax bill, a mentally ill owner not paying PAYE/NI for 9 months and corrupt pair of Insolvency Practitioners.

And what did Whyte do with the £9m of unpaid Tax/PAYE? Did he pocket it?

Oh that's right, he used it to keep the club running or else they would have gone into administration immediately. <doh>

Your dopeyness is not an act? <yikes>

Rangers went from having £30m debt to £18m within a year, we were running within our means, then Shyster came in and the wage bill rocketed due to him signing up McGregor, Naisy, Whittaker and Davis on £25k x 4 year deals then we got pumped out of the CL and Europa Jug.

Stick to the 5 skinners, baldy. :D

Do you not remember after Rangers got beat by Kanaus the bank said no more money to be spent , despite this old Wattie delivered player after player at a cost of 15/20 million , why do the daft Huns not remember this ??? Murray and Smith killed Oldco not Whyte .

Thanks to the guy from the bank who was placed on the board.

The guy Walter said was forcing him "to work with one hand tied behind his back", the guy the fans called "the enemy within"

The one guy, Donald Muir, who did more to save old Rangers than anyone and was roundly hated by everyone in the stands, dugout, boardroom for it.

Donald Muir was placed on the board to get the banks cash back because of the state of Muzza's Muzza group.

Donald Muir did not do "more to save Rangers than anyone", he merely was placed on the board to control the business' finances during the worst recession in 80 years.

Craig Whyte caused the business to fail, that and the phantom tax bill.

Yup, the only guy who tried to stop the spunkmoneyyoudonthaveathon did nothing.

The guy in the cardigan who continued spunking it and moaning if he didn't have twice as much to spend as Celtic (one hand behind his back <laugh>) is a club legend.

<laugh>

A much more fun thread would be a list of wagers on who Der Volken will blame if it goes tits up again.

It won't be anyone at the club/company/holding/parent/conglomerate

If you wish to believe that then the best of British luck to you, everyone else - including the dogs on the street - know the truth of the matter.

Rangers were in the grubber and Whyte was given the task of getting them out of it by any means necessary. If that meant using money that should have been paid to the Taxman to run Rangers until more cash came in from their European run then so be it. He gambled (because he had no other option) and it backfired.

I think you misunderstand how these things work, Bib, which surprises me..... :emoticon-0119-puke:

Walter didn't spend money, he gets an approved budget from the owner and spends the owners money accordingly. Lloyds, noticing that Muzza Group is racking up £1bn in debts, places Donnie Muir onto the Rangers board to control Murray's scattercash policy at the club and eventually reign it in. He didn't "save the club".

Whyte ****ed it all, that and the phantom HMRC bill, our £10m PAYE/VAT bill could've been paid by selling a few "stars", HMRC forcing the business to fail should be a national disgrace, both for the loss to the public purse of vital revenue and for forcing the Pride of Scotland to play in SFL3.
