"I hear the rattling of beads accross the land, praying for divine intervention to prevent the mighty Rangers winning promotion. The taigs desperate in their efforts for some calamity to befall us. They are terrified of our management dream team. Can't blame them with the utter fanny they are stuck with. They are afraid. As for Villa, a train wreck of a club, but one who's fans think they are bigger than they are. Whilst MW is the man, I would think they are looking for a big name to align with their big heads, so the story is just another pathetic attempt at winding us up. I smell the fear!"

David Runham, Southampton, said: “Hugh Dallas must have been appalled that his son did not red card Gibbons. How many more disgraceful decisions will there be in Scottish football before a player’s career is finished by that sort of tackling?”

Andy Lamb, Fraserburgh, said: “Livingston adopted a cynical kick-it-if-it-moves approach and offered no entertainment. Mark Warburton was right to ask for protection for his players.”

Rab Picken said: “Livingston are a disgrace to football. Absolute hackers. Oduwa was lucky to escape in the first 30 seconds with that challenge on him yet the ref said nothing. The SFA should come down on this but they won’t. I wonder why.”

George Kelly emailed: “Livi are a rugby team. Refs in this country give Rangers nothing.”

Kevin Ledwidge, Falkirk, said: “Peter Houston should have been at Ibrox last night and he might have witnessed the worst decision he’s ever seen. Not to punish the potential leg-breaking tackle on Oduwa – when the ref was staring right at it – was a disgrace.”

Alan McGaw, Alloa, said: "The tackling by Livingston was shocking. The first tackle on Oduwa could have broken his ankle. I wonder if the compliance officer will examine Livi’s performance.”

    RST Statement on Mark Burchill

We call on the SFA to take the strongest possible action against Livingston manager, Mark Burchill after comments made by him on Radio Clyde tonight.
Burchill, in trying to justify the thuggish actions of his players in the Petrofac Cup tie against Rangers last night and Kieron Gibbons in particular, stated that:

"Kieron Gibbons is a young, talented Scottish footballer who has signed for a Scottish club. Nathan Oduwa is an English footballer who has not signed for a Scottish club. So we are dragging someone over the coals who is one of our own - who is a player who could possibly play for Scotland in the future."

His comments are at best xenophobic and at worst casual racism. The idea that Scottish players should be able to get away with serious foul play if their target is of another nationality is quite incredible. Burchill is condoning his player's attempt to seriously injure an opposition player. That he's doing it based on a blinkered, backward and insular assessment of a player's worth to the Scottish game makes his comments even worse.

Nathan Oduwa is a highly talented young player. He is the type of fast, exciting, skilful player that fans pay to see, regardless of his team or nationality. For a Scottish manager to suggest this type of player may not make a worthwhile contribution to our game is deeply concerning. If this attitude is prevalent it may go some way to explaining our national side's relative lack of success in recent years. If Nathan Oduwa only spends a year in Scotland he'll contribute more to the Scottish game than players like Kieron Gibbons will in a lifetime.

In the middle of a fortnight of action from Show Racism the Red Card, Burchill's comments are unwelcome and worthy of attention from the SFA if they are serious about tackling such issues in football.

The BHEAST hasn't played attacking flair football since O'Thomas of the Burn's spell in charge. <rofl>

The Queen's XI though are flourishing thanks to the Magic Hat and the crowds are flocking back to Ibrox for league games meanwhile over at the Pestalla, the Ronnie Rasp has the spastic hordes creaming their drawers as the Thumb bangs them in before seig hale-ing the Groin Order then throwing the N-Bomb over to Ambrose who in turn lets in another goal such is his disgust at playing for Skeletor's XI @ Snake Mountain.

"There have been many shareholders in RIFC in recent years for whom the club's interests do not come first. Rangers supporters will ensure that the Club's interest and its success is always paramount.

"To achieve this aim, it will be necessary to remove shareholders who do not share the same vision. Rangers supporters can also use the shares they have acquired to back those with the club's best interests at heart. (Dave King Obviously)

"Once this has been achieved, funds can be used to invest in the development of young players, to protect Ibrox, to recognise our history in an archive/museum and to develop our stadium."

Hmm, just read that apparently/allegedly Magath bought his shares from a certain individual who bears a striking resemblance to Jabba The Hutt.
