Mike Ashley is a very astute and clever man but he needs to be careful here as well as smart.The support is split and in all honesty the only thing that’s going to unify it in any way is good management, good football and winning games every week . This boardroom stuff needs to stop – we have a game against Inferiority Complex FC at the weekend and I for one would have liked to be in a position to concentrate on that. As it is I think we have a fighter’s chance on Sunday. I can’t wait for it – in Kevin Keegan’s infamous words: “I’d love it if we beat them!” They ain’t all that; in fact they’re as poor a Celtic side as I’ve seen in 20 odd years but sadly they’re still overwhelming favourites. The fact they are should not be lost on us. If we had done things properly from 2012 we might have been more than ready to give them a going over but as it is we have a slow, one-paced immobile team that is about to play on a massive pitch. That said, hopefully we will be ready come Sunday. Our experience of these games should stand us in good stead. Hopefully we can keep it tight and let’s see what they’ve got. At the end of the day, we are the ones with nothing to lose – they on the other hand face ridicule. shame and humiliation if we win the game. Ashley should come up for it – let him see what we are and what we’re all about. Ihhe’s serious about us, which I’ve been told numerous times he is. then he should get his arse up here and show us that he cares what happens to us. With all our men in the trenches, so to speak, let him get the Rangers Till I Die spirit within him and let him see how much the rest of Scotland wants us to take a beating. Let him understand that truly no one likes us and we really don’t give a ****. (This is not really true) I’ve been told on decent authority that he is more than up for the battle for control but more importantly he’s even more up for the war that lies ahead after that.He wants us dominant and he wants us to crush all opposition in our path. He might not be a Rangers Man – but he’s being caught up in our history and he’s aware of our past. The big bad billionaire is a bit of a cuddly toy, hard right enough but he genuinely wants us to succeed beyond our expectations if and when he takes full control. The problem is that he has the media, a football authority and an entire country – which includes a serious number of our own – that don’t want him here. I think it’s time he endeared himself to us, even just a little bit. People who want control of our club will fight hard and dirty to beat him using every means they can including foul, the SFA will try to deter him at every turn and we can be assured that CFC will do absolutely anything to stop him from being the powerbroker at Ibrox. (Tinfoil Hat Country) Why? One word: Fear. Each and every one of them will try to back him into a corner till he gets fed up and backs down. He won’t. I’m telling you all right now – he will fight you till his last breath because he wants us so much. He sees the limitless potential, he sees pots of gold – for him,yes – but also for us. We have to maximise that potential in order for him to make the kind of money that’ll make a difference to him. The same can’t be said of King or Park. Park doesn’t have the kind of cash that could lead us into a new era and King is only interested in what’s in it for him. He wants control and power but doesn’t want to pay for it, end of. The endgame is in sight – Ashley will win, make no mistake here. He’s almost over the line already. It’s already very doubtful if there’ll be an EGM because any vote will be irrelevant and futile. So I’d suggest that Park, Letham and Taylor get their thinking hats on and do what’s best for Rangers. Get round the table and build some friggin’ bridges, see where there’s ground for discussion and get down to negotiations. The club needs wealthy backers, Rangers Men among them and it needs its support back. Get on with it, the lot of you – it’s been going on too long. Ashley is here and he’s going nowhere. Park and his consortium can be a pretty major part of our future success if they are prepared to leave their egos at the front door. They along with MASH have to do what’s best for our club – now! We are Rangers, the greatest club in the land. a sleeping giant in hibernation. Well winter’s nearly over and there’s changes afoot when the storm breaks. We need to be ready for the spring. Investment in all areas and departments are required, a new squad built in the summer, with new management team and Director of Football in tow. These should be exciting times for us but we are being hijacked at every turn. There’s not a single competitor that wants a multi billionaire in charge of Rangers. You want to know why? They’ve ripped us to shreds for three years, they’ve kicked us when we were down and spat on our memory – bullied, abused and mocked us. They hate us. They have infiltrated our support and our shareholding; they have tried and tried for years now to kill us. They don’t want and can’t bear to have a vengeful multi billionaire at Ibrox ready to boot their balls back up to Parkhead, or Hampden or Tannadice or Pittodrie or Easter Road. They need us. They need our money. They need us to sell papers. They need us to do TV deals. They need us for sponsorship. They need need need but they can’t and never will admit it. Yet they are the deluded ones, not us. They need us but you know what they don’t need? Us being US. They don’t want us united, they don’t want us successful and they sure as f*** don’t need us to have a multi billionaire backing us. It’s jealousy – that’s all it is, guys – jealousy. They are so bitter they can’t bear the thought of us back in our rightful place. Think about it – pity them – they can only talk about US. They’ve nothing else to talk about ffs. They can’t have it and they’ll do everything in their power to stop us from getting a wealthy backer or backers. They want King or Park in charge, simply because they know they can compete with that. This is a sad, parochial little backwater that needs “cleansed” – sadly for me I include some of our own in that – but it’s true, some of our own have behaved like Them or worse! Ashley – a multi billionaire with a golden touch, successful in all he does – do you really think Lawwell or King and his “backer(s)” want such a guy to put our club back together? Not a chance in hell does anyone else in Scottish Football want that scenario unfolding. Sunday is the day when our “watershed” happens on the pitch. It’s when normal service is resumed, so to speak. Beating Celtic is not necessary to the rebuilding process our club must go through but it would be a massive boost to it.
