The only scottish player that took his body toning seriously , was John Collins and he learnt that abroad at Monaco . I think its a scottish mentality problem , yes footballers are fit , but are they as fit as they should be ???
I heard that, on JC's first day as Hibs boss, he lifted his shirt and said:

This is all based on "I heard""apparently" and all that but he supposedly lost a fair bit of the dressing room on day one with that and never recovered.

I believe partly the reason Scotland dont create as many top players in times gone by is down to this. In the past you got away with this - as everyone was the same.
If you look at the likes of Ronaldo -when he arrived at Man Utd he was a scrawny teen. Lots of tricks and little product. But look at the effort he put in. You can see he was in the gym as he grew bigger and stronger. He also put in the time training. From what I read of him he spends hours taking free kicks and just generally training.
Despite his fame you dont read about him exposing himself to people in bars at 3 or 4 in the morning either.
Talent only gets you so far. The club should be preaching this to the kids coming through. If Watt and now Atajic are being found out...speaks volumes IMO
Always remember had to go up to the park to pick tickets for some game , walking away down London Road outside the chippie there was Stevie Fulton tucking into his lunch a huge Fish supper . Straight after training lets get to the chippie !!!Can't imagine Ronaldo doing that , at that time Fulton was rated the next star of scottish football
Every foreign manager that has managed in Scotland has said the same. We also need to start training full time like the continentals.
