    Great goal from Defoe

He actually worked hard tonight but it shows just how hard he'd need to work all game as a lone striker.

What it proved is what a great sub he is. He is always likely to have a go and he will create space against tired defenders to get a shot away. Sometimes they fly in like tonight. I don't think we should even entertain the thought of him leading the line especially away at places like Newcastle. Unfortunately it seems that is what is going to happen.

It could be that JD fits more in with AVB's tactics than he did with Harrys? With Harry, we played essentially on the counter attack, holding the ball up while support arrives and JD wasn't/isn't very good at this. However, if we are going to squeeze the area we play in, someone nippy, who can create a bit of space out of nothing could be successful. This is more JD's game. Still want Leando/Llorente/Ade but JD could be successful in the meantime.
