I am currently working on a poem about Saints managers but can any of you come up with a Saints related poem?

Managers part one

When I first supported Saints we had Lawrie Mac
Our most successful manager
And that's a fact
First came relegation
And then the FA cup
Then we got promotion
And things were looking up
Second in the top flight
Runners up in the league cup
Then he went to Sunderland
With the best of luck
Then came Chris Nicholl
Who didn't do too bad
Much better than Branfoot
Nicholls job he now had
Branfoot he was useless
I can say without a doubt
What sane manager
Would leave our Matty out?
What did Branfoot do for Saints?
I would say f*ck all
Finally the board saw sense
And in came Alan Ball
When Ball came in
He did very well
He got the best of Matty
In his so short spell
Dave Merrington was next
He came in for a bit
Dave was so good against Utd
At half time they changed their kit
Next season it was Souness
I think we can all agree
He will always be remembered
For thrashing Man utd six three

I think this could be a great place for poetry of any sort for people to write, review etc.

if you think that is a good idea...

I’ve “written” this to express my feelings since lockdown and not being able to see the football at the ground. If there are any musicians out there who could perhaps throw another tone to go with my one tone, then maybe we could make this a double tone song.
sorry if this sounds like serious looney behaviour ...
ah well

“I never thought I'd miss you
Half as much as I do
And I never thought I'd feel this way
The way I feel
About you
As soon as I wake up
Every night, every day
I know that it's you I need
To chase the blues away
It must be Saints, Saints, Saints
It must be Saints, Saints, Saints
Nothing more, nothing less
Saints are the best
How can it be that you can
Play so much without fans?
Bless you and bless me
Bless our shots
And our goals
I've got to be near you
Every night, every day
I couldn't be happy
Any other way
It must be Saints, Saints, Saints
It must be Saints, Saints, Saints”

I’m working on a follow up about our new kit, called Baggy Shorts...... “All the coaches in the pub passing round the physios rub”

If anyone thinks this is plagiarism, please stop being rude, boys.

Great effort Fats!
I would point out that Labi Siffre wrote and recorded the original in 1971, so he deserves the royalties rather than that other bunch of eccentrics.
