Soldado has had his best years, he doesn't seem suited to the premier league either. Lamela has great potential but apparently wants to leave, as does Capoue, Erikson and Lloris. Pochettino will have a hard job on his hands persuading them to stay and an even harder job trying to get them playing together as a team. I just wonder whether Levy will give even him the time to do it, as with Jol, Arry and AVB he sacked three decent managers just as they were starting to give spurs some stability.
Go back and read the comment properly. I was in response to not PC enough, who was laughing at you for saying Pochettino would last two years, but strangely voted for a decade of success himself ......
None of your apparently wants to leave stack up. Lamela's brother and agent has said he doesn't want to leave, Eriksen has loudly declared his intention to stay and Capoue has said nothing to my knowledge. The only one is Lloris and possibly Sandro, but not cut and dried.
I am not sure that this is proven. he did well with the team Adkins developed, however as he has slowly taken over, they have barely got any better. I'm not saying he has done badly, but I just don't see any real evidence for him being "Talented". I think he could be a real disaster at Spurs, but maybe that is just wishful thinking.
There was plenty of noise from Lamela's brother earlier in the year about him wanting out of Spurs and on Monday according to ESPN Inter Milan will make a bid for him in the summer. It was widely reported about how unhappy Capoue is at Spurs and Chadli's agent has also said he wants to leave. Add to that Sandro, Lloris and Holtby who have all expressed a desire to leave Spurs and it looks like the majority of that huge summer spend has been on players who want a speedy exit.
Anyway, there's a laugh at Spurs thread to discuss the players who want to jump ship. This thread is for discussing how short Pochettino's tenure will be. I think he will struggle to do anything differently from AVB or Nice but Dim to start with and I see Spurs finishing somewhere near 6th again next season, but Levy can't sack him too soon otherwise the majority of Spuds will wake up to the fact that the chairman is the problem, so I think he'll give him two seasons. If they don't get CL in that period then it will be manager number Eleven for Levy.
I don't know the man but Levy strikes me as someone with 'little man syndrome', he needs to exert his power as a means of illustrating his control. He can't be under illusions that constant change doesn't work, I still don't understand why he got rid of 'Arry after two top 4 finishes in three years, what are the clubs expectations ? As for the new manager, he could be decent, I know someone at Southampton who said the Chairman down there was after Ponch for a long time and was desperate to get him even though he knew the uproar sacking Adkins would create. But then again give a man a big club, big chequebook and big expectations and that all adds up to extreme pressure, only time will tell how he deals with it...
if he doesn't succeed instantly Levy will sack him in 6 months. if he does ok Levy will sack him in 12 months. if he does well Levy will sack him in 18 months. basically Levy will sack him, its just a question of when and not if. or as he clearly has no loyalty in him, he will **** off and join Chelsea when they sack Jose for not winning anything for 2 seasons running.
Fans of other teams used to wum us by posting the Since Arsenal won a trophy website link (but we can now use to wum them). Maybe someone should do one for Since Spurs sacked their last manager.
well they are all a bit subdued bless em . They were hoping for a world class manager from the continent . They end up with the guy who just finished 13 points below them , despite them being absolute sh1te this season ....... gotta feel sorry for HIAG . But the question is .....Is Levy actually taking the pi$$ ? or deadly earnest .
I posted on the spuds board that poochi was another Ramos in the making and pointed out that Levy is an expert at destroying managers careers... They are so sensitive and insecure they removed it!? I mean really! Yesterday I started the Gareth Bale appreciation thread! It was like a red rag to a bunch of bulls! They did make me laugh though! I do like their reactions when they feel a bit wound up.... A bit juvenile I know but enjoyable all the Same
Poochi The ironic thing is though that although the spuds slag him off, out of the managers that that Levy has ****ed off Ramos is the only one who has actually won anything for the Spuds. I know it was only the tinpot carling cup, but by rights they should have a statue of the ****er outside their ground as he's brought them the only glimmer of glory in the last 25 years
Levy now apparently wants to get rid of Baldini, presumably on the back of the calamity that was last season's transfer window and subsequent season. Good old Danny boy, blaming everybody around him instead of taking responsibility himself.
theres only one poochy ! and as Juan Sánchez Villa-Lobos RamÃrez would say " There can be only one ! "
