He's got Soldado and Adebayor ahead of him. Granted, the former's crap, but MP may still have faith in him and not have the balls to drop him, like Lambert last season.

Can't see Tottenham paying that much but I can see Liverpool trying for him in that range. Good money for him TBH.
20m for a player who will probably just be back in Jan is mad money. Specially with the type of injury he had.
I'd bite their hand off for 20m in January! Could be injury prone for all they know. We can replace him with that guy we've been linked with.
I'd like Jay to stay, but, if he doesn't, I'll just call him a tosser and move on. Don't care about any player who doesn't want to stay with my fantastic club. I'll trust Les and Ron to make the right decision.
At one point yesterday I was thinking we could really do with someone like Jay anticipating and running on to Pelle's lay off's. Then Ron brought on Shane Long.
All this rubbish about Koeman not wanting him because Pelle is better than anticipated is getting tiresome... My 3 points 1. Jayrod is a completely different player to pelle. If it was lambert that would be a valid point. 2. Koeman often says that Jrod will be a new signing for us in january. Not language someone uses if they intend to sell. If he was gonna sell him he wouldnt big him up! 3. Would he want to go to spurs? No better than our squad IMO and he must be looking at lovren lallana etc and thinking no thanks! Attacking spearhead of jayrod and long running onto pelles knockdowns!
I've not read anyone say Koeman doesn't want him because Pelle's turned out better than that. Where did you get that from? I'd also guess that nearly everyone posting would want Jay to stay; some people just believe he has made up his mind to go.

I would say that comparison of Jay to Pelle is a little absurd really. Did we compare Jay to Rickie? Compare Jay to Mane and Jay (of last season) wins hands down. Should be a good battle for the left berth of the 3.
To be fair to Mane, he's head and shoulders above Jay early in his first season. Mane is something really special. The kind that can be spied a mile off. Jay came on leaps and bounds under Pochettino, and before his injury was proving to be better than Mane is now. But even so, both have attributes to bring, if we say they are of their best status so far under Saints. When Jay returns he'll be ring-rusty, and not match-fit. Saints will bring him back gradually, and then the midfield/wide/striker options will be excellent indeed.
