They will want some-one high profile. Wouldnt be surprised if they took Hoddle back. Close pals with Levy.
Love one of the comments on that article: "the speed Southampton are going down hill their manager may be looking for a new job soon."
We only appear to be going down hill because we climbed so high...lost 4 out of 16 games. Hardly poor for a team still finding their feet.
Anyone else wonder if these stories have been planted by Spurs with the intention of unsettling us before the weekend?
My thoughts exactly. They just need to put a few teasers out to the media to get the stories flowing.
Apparently Spurs are going to give Tim Sherwood time to work with the team. Cannot see Nicola giving Spurs permission to talk to MP.
I'm not at all sure that MP would even be interested in Spurs, to be honest. One of his main interests is to bring younger players into a first team squad. Spurs aren't going to wear that, even though they have spent masses on new training facilities. MP has hit jackpot in terms of a club that operates in the way he wants. Why would he want to change for the sake of a couple of places up the table, which aren't guaranteed in any case. Spurs have the greater success, but prior achievements are there to be shot at, and prior achievements count for nothing if you don't add to them yourself. Poch has got a chance at Saints to make real history. I'm biased, but I can't see that he'll give it more than a split-second thought. Also factor in that he's fiercely loyal to Cortese.
And he [Mourinho] was one of the people, maybe even the main person, who recommended Pochettino to Cortese.
I think if it had it would have been more widely publicised (since everything Mourinho does seems to be widely publicised), and I can't find any source for that. I know Pochettino said Mourinho recommended he move to England but I'd be surprised if Cortese and Mourinho were well enough acquainted for Mourinho to recommend Pochettino to Cortese.
If you really that sure you could have looked. And I think we know how much Guillem Balague is on the ball about news: http://www.sportsmole.co.uk/footbal...nho-advised-pochettino-appointment_65541.html
Yes, I remember watching 'Revista de La Liga' when Balague made that comment. He was at one end of the bar in the studio and mentioned that Jose Mourinho had contact with Southampton and provided an endorsement of Pochettino.
Well everything is up for our acceptance or not. Guillem Balague tends to be one of the reporters who gets it right though. And as -DTLW says above, he remembers it too.
