I don't know much about this Moshiri fella but he'll definitely need to get that cheque book out. Aside from two disappointing seasons, the potential selling of their star players won't be sending out the best of messages and with no form of European football and about five or six positions in need of upgrading, it's not looking too great. Unless they find gems through good scouting, I think a good £60m+ is needed for them to start getting back up the table and that's very un-Everton-ish.
1. Levy tax on Pochettino immediately increases big-time 2. Nice to see that the coaching staff are in the picture as well (Pochettino indicating the package is him + his crew) . 3. Acceptance of said staff is subject to a <Spurcat> on their facial grooming.
People who think United have some kind of right to be a title winning top club should acquaint themselves with the history a little. Matt Busby certainly turned them into one of the worlds top clubs, winning the league and what is now called the CL, an extremely successful manager, when he left it was a whole different matter. Like SAF a very hard act to follow despite a succession of the top managers of the day: Wilf McGuinness, Frank O'Farrell, Tommy Docherty and Dave Sexton 3 of whom had experienced great success before their arrival at United. The next League title was 26 years after Busby's and that was when under SAF. It's very hard to follow such a successful man as history shows in many walks of life. In England only Liverpool managed to produce a dynasty; Shankley, Paisley, ***an & Dalgleish. United could easily struggle for years, this is not Spain where 2 teams dominate even the period of the Sky 4 was twice as many and that could well be over now anyway. Happily English football even though now largely played by non English footballers has always been broadly competitive and long may it continue. Liverpool & United struggling to make the top ten is very good for the league. Congratulations Leicester.
We know from the Poool that empires can die quickly enough. The departure of a long-serving giant of a manager may be the pivotal event.
Lol look at how much higher Levy's seat is boosted up to put him at the same height as Pochettino. Oh yeah and great news, Pochettino's done brilliantly overall since arriving. Just need to start adding some trophies over the next 5 seasons
I like the way that he includes his coaches in statements like this. His new mate Ferguson always understood how important they could be and I think it's where some other managers are slipping up.
That guy who commentates for Spurs on our matches... His voice kinda gets on my tits. Sure he's a very nice fella and all that....
What? Poch inviting Fergie to become Director of Football at Tottenham? Don't think United will be too happy.
I think it's Spurcat... Honestly though, I really think that our whole approach to online media needs updating. So much of it just smacks of amateurism and half-arsing it. A sensible and fan-friendly change could do wonders for the club in the future. It's one area that doesn't appear to be on the radar of those at the top, unfortunately.
Harry Kane (the scruff) . This is a chance ... he rounds the keeper ... that scruff has won it !!! Right at the death, in stoppage time !!! That new scruff on his debut has won it for Tottenham !!! Look at those scenes ... incredible scenes !!! Look what it means to his scruffy team-mates !!! Maurizio Pochettino (the scruff) , has a victory ... on his first game in charge !!! <Spurcat>
Fergie failed the DoF multiple choice test ... Club X has a young player you wish to buy, but say the price you have offered is too low and will take the case to a tribunal. Do you : a) Pay the price declared by the tribunal b) Decline the player c) Arrange for an overseas club Y to buy the player, and then buy the player from Y 6 months later at your original offered price.
Spurs saved 3m quid in transfer fees, didn't they. Not sure what increase in wages that player got after leaving club X.
