Also better than messi n ronaldo

He wasn't maradonna IMO, and because he took his eye off the ball (no pun intended) people forget how talented he was too

No love for the original Ronaldo... people forget just how good he was.

It was before my time but I'd consider Maradona the best for what he achieved in teams when not surrounded by superstars.

    Pele, Maradona, Cruyff, Beckenbauer.

    Not necessarily in that order.

Matthew LeTissier was as talented as any of them, but as he chose loyalty over glory and consequently won **** all, he can't really be ranked alongside them.

why would you say he's better than Messi? There is nothing on this planet to suggest that

Magical and very likeable...won a World Cup too but I still see no way he is better than Messi

    Or Cristiano Ronaldo either.

Ronaldinho was brilliant but only for a few years... these guys have been consistently been unbelievable for a decade.

Mate maradonna could do things with a ball messi wishes he could.

Apart from which maradonna alone would win you things

Messi is a great player but he isn't on maradonnas level

Dinho for a window was maradonna esque

Sorry mate but you made that too easy for me <laugh>

I'd say Ronaldo has comfortably outperformed Messi at international level too, bearing in mind he's been in a worse team as well.

Probably. I'd say they're both outstanding players, the best of their generation - but as I'm an old git I'm not putting either up there alongside the iconic players of my youth.

Pele, Maradona, Cruyff and Beckenbauer weren't just match winners, they were game changers - football developed and moved forward because of their individual contributions.

If people are still talking about Ronaldo and Messi in 20, 30, or 40 years time, then maybe they can be ranked as highly - maybe..

Like I say it's before my time but if pushed I would always class Maradona as the greatest.
