That flap by Begovic which lead to the Plymouth goal really was Sunday league stuff. That's another two points he's cost us. I'm struggling to recall a QPR goalkeeper who has cost us so many points in a single season. I don't care that he made some reasonable saves: I expect that from our goalkeeper. I don't expect the charity he shows time and time again. There's irony in the fact that Begovic gets an assist for an Adomah own goal: neither of them should now be anywhere near a Championship first team. At least Marti has no practical alternative to Begovic but why on earth did he bring on Uncle Albert? Hopefully for a farewell appearance? We were almost home and dry.... There are folks saying that a 4-point gap and a superior goal difference should be enough to keep us up but wouldn't it be very QPR to balls up the Great Escape? We've shown that, up front, we can miss chance after chance after chance after chance and now we've slipped into the habit of giving away comedy goals. Safe? My a**e we're safe. Very annoyed. And really quite nervous.
Said before tonight we need three points and will stick with us now needing two but could do without the stress. Not expecting anything at Hull but then we’re capable of doing Preston at home with an extra couple of hours of alcohol in the fans’ bloodstreams. We’ll be fine but it won’t be fun.
He’s infuriating and his miss today was abysmal but you know what you’re getting with him- a squad player and probably a cheap one. A good impact sub. Absolutely keep Armstrong. I’m certain he’s not fit but we aren’t in a position to give up on a player with that potential.
English Championship - Relegation 2023/24 Wed, 10 Apr Sheffield Wednesday 8/11 Huddersfield 5/6 Plymouth 6/4 Birmingham 2/1 Blackburn 7/1 QPR 10/1 Millwall 14/1 Stoke 16/1
Problem is I’ve never seen him play football even though he has been on the pitch at least a dozen times when I’ve been there
No end product, League One at best. That miss one on one with their keeper was horrible, a decent player would've tucked that one away.
A tad harsh. There are games where he’s made an impact off the bench for sure. There was a game he crossed for Dykes to score at home on the one in a million occasion Dykes happened to be in the right place. Scored a good goal against Rovrum. Certainly puts the miles in when he’s out there and did an adequate job tonight with the exception of the miss. He’s well down the list of players I’d be letting go.
****ing Millwall beating Leicester, that's just a liberty. Sheffield drawing from 2 down v Norwich isn't far behind either !
How can our top goalscorer only have 5, and were not in the relegation zone ? Jeez, this league is shocking lol
Just saw the highlights and to give him some credit he did well for the chance Smyth ****ed up. Still ****.
Anyone in for a Penny (or 10 pence) for a Pound? As a 17 year old when I worked in a neighbour's Bookie office (summer job and after Grammar School, we used to call this "laying off" (to a larger Bookie, William Hill etc.) when someone suddenly made large late bet on an extreme outsider close to the horse race gate time.
I'm not and never have been a gambling man, but that looks about right, although I'd probably swap us with Blackburn.
