On another day the ref would have sent off their keeper and they had made all 3 subs so an outfield player would have been in goal where I then would doubt that they would have saved Harrisons late chance which apparently fantastically saved!!

    The Manager's post-match thoughts

Ellis Harrison's 90th minute penalty earned Rovers a point at Home Park and Darrell Clarke was full of praise about the character of his side bouncing back to equalise so late in the day.

"I thought the boys were terrific and showed real character to get something out of the game.

"It was good for us to break the losing streak we had going which is nice but Ellis [Harrison] has come on and put his penalty away and possibly could have won it for us at the death.

"We always try and win games and it is pleasing that the lads put a really good performance in because I thought today's game was a good advert for League Two.

"I think we are more than a match for anyone in this league on our day and we need to take this result and build on it and try and get a positive result next week."

Rovers changed formation to 4-4-2 bringing in Jake Gosling and Billy Bodin to add width to the side and the Rovers boss thought it was a positive change to his side.

"I think we were attacking well using our width against their 4-3-3 which caused them a couple of problems.

"We knew the opening 15 minutes would be difficult and they [Plymouth] had a few set pieces but we got the ball down and started playing it around well. I think Matty Taylor was unlucky with a couple of headers but I thought we shaded the first half.

"Second half we had to withstand 15-20 minutes of heavy pressure, then I thought the game evened out and then we dominated the final 10 minutes."
